Where/when can I buy Infi knives?

I've been interested in getting a knife made out of Infi ever since I first read about it, but the only place they're for sale is on the Busse site. (I.e. not swamprat or any of the others.) And the Busse site never has anything for sale.

I've been checking off and on for close to year, and all it has is page after page of knives that have been discontinued. There is no explanation of why there are no knives for sale, and no information on when they might be available. Was the Busse brand (and Infi) closed down? I'm not really interested in a used one. I don't know enough about them to know a good deal from a bad one, and there's no warranty.

I get the impression that this is all old knowledge to most of the people here, but I haven't found anything either in this forum or on the site to explain what's going on. Would someone please clue me in?

Thanks,

Charles Lacour

Most would agree,, although there a few good guys on 'the bay',, most of what you see is heavily overpriced IMO.

We are in the midst of "Operation Two Weeks", there are knives listed every Wednesday and available for a couple of days. Sometimes the knives offered are SR-101, not Infi, but often there is an Infi option! Check the Busse page tomorrow night!

Busse have been doing their 'Operation Two Weeks' thing in recent months. They offer a blade or two for a limited time, usually a week or so.

Just so you know, if you buy a second hand one off the exchange here on the forums, or anywhere else, you can sleep well knowing the knife is still covered by warranty, as the warranty is on the knife, not the owner. :)

Be sure to sign up to Busse's mailing list through their website to get the latest offers.

Welcome !!

Busse Combat is currently running a two week special run on knives. Knives are posted on Wednesday at an unknown time so you have to check Busse combat website regularly. The knife or knives are not described ( name / specs ) until they are posted. Some have been INFI steel others SR101, these are short run limited supply offers. The knife runs last two weeks or less depending on supply, so check back often and buckle up cause if you get hooked it's a wild ride :-)
Plus as posted here above there's always the for sale exchange here :-)
Hope this helps best of luck scoring the INFI blade your after !!!!

They are out there, you just have to look. There is a forum member here that has a good supply that he sells. Also check the exchange

So out of curiosity, anything special you are after ?? Small, medium or large, is it a chopper or edc your after ?
The SFNO was it for me first sighting sucked me right in :-) lol

Others have pretty well covered it: sign up for the newsletter, hang out here for new offerings.

If you buy used the warranty is still intact. The only thing to look out for would be if the blade had aftermarket modifications, but even then it seems like Jerry and crew are always willing to go the extra mile to look out for their customers.

For the most part, prices on the exchange reflect fair market value, (especially right now, with the deluge of new offers supressing secondary market sales to some extent). There is a price guide sticky in the forum here to a least give an idea of the original price for a lot of blades, to help you decide if the current markup on a discontinued blade is worth it to you. Other sites like bussecollector and badmojo can help as well.

Good luck!!

ya get on their mailing list an play the waiting game :) when they offer one you like jump on it.. I waited quite a while an when I saw the WTF blade email.. the angels sung, the clouds parted and I secured one!!
or you can hit up Knifehunter.com. that guy is legit..

The real question is what knife/size or style do you want ? with all the factory releases lately the exchange prices have been very soft. There are no doubt some great buys to be had there. The trick is knowing what you want ??

I feel like in the last year there have been 15 or so new offerings of INFI or more.

It helps to sign up for their news letter for notifications.

Also, there are thousands of pieces available aftermarket. Look at the Busse for sale sub forum here. As others said too, Ebay has them, usually at grossly hyper-inflated prices.

Occasionally there are fantastic deals on Ebay that fly under the radar tbough.

I suggest trying out a large chopper, where INFI is at its best.

Good luck, and happy hunting.

good to see you again Andy! im just curious, did you get in on that WTF blade or was that not your cup of tea?

If you see one you want, you best not ponder it too long. Some don't last but a few minutes when they are on sale on the forum. Every blade on operation two weeks has sold out in a few days. So keep that in mind.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies. I figured something out of the ordinary had to be going on, and now I know what it is (and how to at least have a shot at a knife).

I'm interested in small to medium blades. Maybe a folder on the small end (3-4"). Medium I would count as 4-7 inches, although I'd prefer to keep the blade (as measured from the handle to the tip, regardless of whether it's sharpened) to under 5", because anything above that counts as a weapon where I live (Texas). I'd rather not get pulled over for a taillight being out, and end up going to jail because my blade was 5.5" long. I could see a longer one as useful when camping, but I don't do much of that anymore.

For now, if I want to do chopping, I'll use a hatchet.

As it stands now,, a folder will not be available for many years,, it's kind of an ongoing joke here.
There are a lot of good options in that size for a fixed blade however
