Where would ur dream home be Mtns , farm, ocean

Not interested in a farms, desert, or flat plains. Mountains, forests, and oceans are fine. My first two choices are probably North Carolina and Oregon.

if everywhere was politically and economically equal ocean, the weather here is great. today has a high of 68 :D

Sleepy little ocean town, either Maine/Massachusets/northern VA shore. Ocean City, MD isn't so bad in the off season, but it doesn't have that sleepy little ocean town feel. Too many high rise condos.

You should check out Bethany Beach, DE. I've been going there ever since I was little. Just a very short drive north on Rt.1 from O.C.. If you feel like going out to Seacrets or the O.C. boardwalk, just take a short drive south.

another san diegan checking in. for 6,000,000 i might be able to get close: older spanish style home (30's-40's), 4 bedroom, 2 bath, on 10-20 acres of land, w/ a good view and plenty of trees. the kicker is: i would have to sell it after one year; that's when the property tax bill comes........................b

I'd buy a small stone house with some land in the Alps of the Friuli or Venito regions of Italy. Near Cortina d'Ampezzo. Something rustic, old and quiet with a wood stove and a view of the Dolomites. That's my favorite place on Earth.

Great replys. Looks like we are all alot alike here. I love the mountains and also the on golden pond life. Funny how not one person jumped in and said the city.

I like being on the outskirts of a good size city. I like a wide range of restaurants, museums, plays, etc. I like sports, so pro sports is a plus. I also like being around a good size college/univ and most are around decent sized cities.

I like the idea of driving 15 mins one way to be in a city, and 15 mins in the opposite direction to be in the woods. Places like Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Bend, Portland, etc appeal to me. My parents live in TN and from what I've seen Nashville and Knoxville seem nice.

My summer home is already my perfect location. We've got an old home built in the 1890's that is across the road from the water on a little island right on the Maine/New Brunswick border. A 20 minute ferry ride can put you on mainland Canada or U.S.A. It's a seakayakers' dream sprinkled with small islands that offer countless options for exploration and with the world's highest tidal ranges, even a straight out and back trip is different. As much as I love the mountains, the sea is where it's at for me.

Maybe I shouldn't mention how far that much money would go in my parts, either:D:thumbup:

I like riding through Rehoboth, Bethany, Lewes, DE seashore SP and Fenwick on the way to OC, and have thought about renting up there instead of OC. Whenever I go to OC, I spend a lot of time in DE, gonna head up to NJ this year if I go to OC.

However, I like the feel of the small towns, like Chincoteague. No high rises (well, not many for Chincoteague), no big ten lane highways, no all night mini marts etc, no hustle bustle except for the pony swim. I haven't been in a LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG time though.

dtttomcat, have you ever stopped by Willey Knives in Greenwood? I was going to take a weekend trip down there, but haven't gotten around to it. Now, starting this weekend, I expect traffic to be absolutely horrible around there. Maybe not the 113 corridor as opposed to the RTE1 and RTE 50 corridor.

I'm getting too old to move, so I'd just stay right here, where I get a view like this while I'm sitting at the kitchen table.
