Where would you go if you could just go??

Space.
Moon, Mars, asteroid belt, and farther afield. Get off of this fragile overcrowded basket.

Shipping from Reno would be WHAT?!!!? Err, maybe not.

I wouldn't want to leave America, I'd just like a place in the country with enough room for a little garden, a wood lot and a lot of peace and quiet.

Do you Thai Box Dave? I would love to go to Japan and fight. Mark!!!! Live from the Budokan!!!!1 And by fight I mean get the poop knocked out of me, but I would get a chance to meet the Pride Fighting Championship ring girls so I would sign up for my beat down :D

Hey Mark,

Yup, i used to Thai box as well as jiujitsu. Did freestyle as well, great fun. Only got into freestyling the last 3 years. When I started out fighting, shootfighting and the like was virtually unheard of in North America. I would love to get back but I guess career has taken priority.

I look back and I think, well Dave, you had your day. Be thankful for that.

But one thing I always regretted was not heading down to those thai training camps for a month long sabbatical.

Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to haul my 20lb belly out of this chair and get me a cookie. :(

Back in the good old days when Joe Conforte was still running Mustang...

Sigh - at least old men have their memories - umm, what was the subject again?

Palmyra Atoll, if it hasn't been developed already.

No people, no traffic...nothing but ghosts, memories, and wildlife.

Anywhere I want? Cost not a factor? Alaska, in the summer, and New Zealand in the summer. Contradiction? Nope. Alaska's summer is June-August. New Zealand's summer is Dec-Apr.
From what I hear from people in both areas, the fishing is great during those times.

""All of China. Covers a helluva large area ainnit, including Rob's. ""

:D There's always room in my ger(sp?) for you Edutsi!

We could ride horses on the plains and play some flute--well more than likely I'd listen while you played :) And if I was smart, listen and let you talk too.

They drink a fermented brew (Vodka like) made from horse milk--supposed to be quite strong.

I like the gypsy wagon in Ireland idea!!! and all the Australia/NZ ones too!

Kumis, I want to say. I can look it up...AH. Click link.

There are so many places I'd love to go. I love Thai food, and the Thais are supposed to be really friendly, and (coincidentally) are one of the most attractive groups of people in existence. Hmm...Also, definitely want to visit China, Japan, Alaska, and Tibet.

I'd like to see Goblin valley and all the canyon country in Northern AZ and Southern Utah.

I also want to go to Thailand for this and other reasons (friendly buddhist culture) but I do NOT mean on any sex tour thing...just clearing that up ;) :D

There's a big difference in visiting a place that's seems interesting and actually moving there to live. So far I've touristed in China, India, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Thailand, Cambodia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, England, and France. Later this year I will visit the Scandanavian capitals. It's a big world and I want to see most of it before I "walk west."

However, there is no place better to live than the good old U.S.A IMHO. Well a good part of this belief is because I am biased - I was born an American. But why do you think so many immigrants came here is the past, and why so many try to make it here legally or illegally today? Its the best country in the world. Everytime I travel it makes me appreciate the U.S.A more. Sometimes you will here people in this country bitch and say we should be more like.... You might even hear people in other countries criticize America as they are buying American movies, CDs, etc. I"ll tell you this is all B.S.

Let's say we let the word out to all the people in the world that they can live anywhere in the world they want. Where do you think 90% will opt for? France - I think not. U.S.A, U.S.A, U.S.A!!!

As a side note, on the St. Petersburg extension which I am not taking, we were told that the U.S. dollar is widely accepted, and in fact Russian vendors prefer newish U.S. currency over Euros even.

i would go back to roanoke viriginia were i was born--beautiful country
feel sorta like i got stuck in arizona--i'll tell you the story
my parents and myself and two sisters moved to arizona in 1979--parents got divorced and dad moved back to roanoke--dad got sick and died--sister met husband while being in viriginia for funeral--mom and sisters moved back--met my wife here(she was born in phoenix)all her family is here--all sons friends are here--got stuck in the arizona thing
but think of viriginia everyday--miss family--moms old--seems like i don't even know most relitives anymore--has been so long--22 years--want to see everyone but never have any extra money to go out there
dam i miss it there :( :( :(

Rob, you know how to live. I've wanted to do the same for quite a while now. I even looked into a couple of trips to Mongolia. You know you can do a "volunteer" thing and go work on archeological digs over there? It'll only set you back about 3000...

Saw the Julia Roberts special last year (maybe longer). Good stuff from what I remember!

Don't forget horseback archery!!! Love those small horses. Tough suckers!

The part about it being whom you are with is true. The shared parts make the experience raised to the second power.

I'd also like to go someplace with a trusted guide. You learn so much more when you are off familiar turf. Ten years ago I would like to have visited Nepal with Uncle for a month or more. Those things would be like experiencing things not squared, but cubed. For that matter I'd like to visit Yvsa again - only with more time to share with each other. Or show up at Kismet's door ( with a Nylon 66 for him ) and get to know him.

Munk I've met, but we didn't have the time. Like getting a jump start - a high voltage recharge. God help Yvsa if we both show up at the same time, something we've discussed.

One of Uncle's more memorable posts was something tiltled " I meet an old friend I've never seen before " or pretty close. If someone find's it, give us a link to it. It's classic Uncle Bill. He rubs off on you. For the better.
