Where would you go?

There are any number of places that I'd like to go but — and this may sound odd to many of you — I think I'd really like to go back to Vietnam. It was a beautiful country, and I think I'd like to hike through there without people shooting at me.

My dad has always said the same thing.

My top three places to go would have to be Alaska, British Columbia, and the Laplands of Sweden. If I was on a budget, I'd like to go see the redwoods in California.

Where are you coming out of? It's been a couple of years, but I don't think I ever paid more than $450-RT from Salt Lake City, UT. Of course, I always had plenty of ability to change my dates, and I always fly in the middle of the week, to and from:thumbup:

July. Or June. Doesn't really matter as long as it's summer. I'm coming from near the Los Angeles area and didn't notice any flights with a stop in SLC, maybe some did. I did notice some had a stop in Seattle or Portland. I tried changing around dates to save money but didn't get under $760 with expedia or alaskaairlines. I noticed that Alaska charges $15 per check bag each way so I may go United. I really want to make it up there this year.

OK I changed some parameters and found some for $537. Cheapest I could find. That's more doable as it's about the same cost as flying to Maui (were I have family and can stay for free, and will in February). I would like to find a less expensive flight to Alaska so if anyone can find one for less out of Los Angeles area let me know (or carpool lol). But flight aside, how much should I expect this trip to cost me and were would I go and do?

I've always wanted to hike Kilimanjaro, much more that Everest even. Not sure why. Problem with that is that even with a plane ticket, you would still need to spend some major $$ to make it happen I'm sure. If you've never been and don't want to spend a ton once your on the ground, Go to Yosemite. You could plan an amazing trip around the park with seven days to kill. Other possible choices for me would be the B.C. or Alaskan coast. Or maybe even coastal Maine..
