I'm new to this game and not afraid to admit it. Where would you recommend purchasing a new knife over the internet? Price, service, and selection are my main criteria, not necessarily in that order. As I look at more and more web sites, they are all starting to look the same. Thank you!

Hi!! Welcome to BF!! I buy my knives online exclusively. I buy from knifecenteroftheinternet.com, New GrahamKnives, And BlueLineGear.com. Look around this site to find where people buy their knives, you will learn who the good ones are, and who the bad ones are. I have NEVER had a problem of any kind buying MY knives online! I highly recommend buying knives online.

I buy pretty much all my knives from New Graham knives or AG Russell.

once in a while I can find something I like in a local store, but not very often.

I'll absolutely second knifeworks.com. The guy who owns it's name is Roger, and I've been doing business with him for the past 10 years. Quickest shipping, and (usually) the best prices I've found. Just a great, great guy to work with.

Knife Outlet is good too. www.knifeoutlet.com

Smoky Mountain Knife Works often has the lowest prices on common factory knives, but they sell a lot of crap too. Still, I've never had a problem with them. www.eknifeworks.com

Want a Bark River knife? The great folks at DLT Trading often have the best selection and lowest prices. www.dlttrading.com

New Graham, KnifeWorks, AG Russell, and First Stop Knife Shop are all great too.

Hey all,
I've just recently started purchasing knives over the internet, but so far I've had really good experiences with these places:

http://soonerstateknives.com/ I bought two Benchmades online-shipping was really fast and prices are the lowest overall that I could find, but their selection is somewhat limited.

http://www.sagecreekoutfitters.com I actually called and spoke with Scott twice regarding Ranger knives and others. Great customer service and again, very fast shipping.

http://www.grecoknives.com I just ordered a 6" Scagel from Mr. Greco yesterday and without even seeing it I can guarantee that I will order another of his knives. I really like his designs, his prices are great, and to top it off he seems like a helluva good guy.

cravin, aside from these three sites, I've browsed through most if not all the sites above. While you will probably find better prices on the web, don't underestimate the pleasure of finding a good knife dealer in your area. It's a lot easier (at least for me) to part w/ a good chunk of money if I've had a chance to see what I'm buying first. Case in point, I'd read so much good stuff about the BM mini-grips on this forum that that was one of my first online purchases-at about the same size as the Spyderco Centofante III that I love, I didn't think I could go wrong. But I was buying it for work and since I wear thick and often dirty&oily gloves (and have big hands to start)it was way too small and fragile for what I needed it for and I could have put that $50 towards a larger model by taking the time to handle it first. Aside from the hands-on, most knife dealers that I've met are in the business because they like their products, and the extra premiums you pay shopping person to person are minimal once you establish a friendly relationship.

Good Luck,
Walter

www.edcknives.com : Duane is good ppl, and can find you something as far as customs, especially bali's
www.newgraham.com : NGK is real good on pricing and shipping fast. no problems with them in the past
www.knifecenter.com : has been around forever and has a huge selection, and good pricing also

also shopping in the for sale section here can hurt your wallet, you never know what will show up for sale. make sure the person your dealing with has a good rep.
