Where'd everybody go?

I'm still around just been kinda side tracked lately, i'll try to contribute more this comming year. Thanks to you guys who are regulars and Merry Christmas to you all. happy collecting G.M

Congratuations on the new baby girl, Chuck!!

I've raised 2 myself. In about 30 years when you allow them to date and you meet their boyfriends,
be sure to show them the wall of knife displays and a hatchet or two. The boys do seem to get the message.

So going thru the Schrade names, I'd guess Wolverine, Deerslayer, Badger, Walleye and Muskrat are out for names.

But we do have Hunter and Skinner ..........

I usually drop in here and there daily, not much going on my end, although I picked something nice up, pics tommorow.

I try to check in everyday sometimes I skip one every once in a while. It use to be a little more fun to post stuff I found but you guys are just too good, I find something new and its already up here LOL. I will be honest I have found myself using my schrades more than ever. But the 4 year old and 15 month old twins will really put a hurting on your knife collecting- Joel

I think it's just a lull because of the Holidays. I'll always be here and collecting 'em. Hope Codgers doing well.
Merry Christmas to all,
Jerry H.

I'm still here
I don't do much EBAYing these days:o
I keep my eye out for Schrades at estate sales and thrift shops though!
And I still love learning about the history of Schrade...............

I always come by and see what's new.

I just hardly ever have anything new to post.

But thanks to those that are posting!

Glenn

Same here, too. With no camera, limited funds, and only a newb's knowledge I don't often have anything substantial to add. HOWEVER, I read and view everything that members post. You folks and and this forum are instrumental in my cutlery education. THANK YOU and Merry Christmas.

Iture isn't like it was about 7 or 8 years ago.there was a couple dozen of us spent 2-3 hours on here every night.
then Codger and LT232 had a blow-up and this forum has never been the same.

Hello everyone. I usually check on here at least every other day or evening. I still am picture challenged. I love to read all the posts and see all the pictures. I don't have the money to buy the really old, neat stuff. I love to admire what you guys are able to get and post. I have learned so much from you people. I only have been into knivesw since 1991. Retired and work some to have some extra money for grandkids birthdays and a few knives. I sometimes get lucky and get a good deal.
Just please don't give up because we rookies don't want to sound so dumb and ask a silly question. I look on the traditional slipjoints and the Buck forums also. I like to learn as much as I can about this wonderful knife hobby--addiction. I hope each and everyone has a very Merry Christmas. I promise to work on the picture thing in the next few weeks. I just hope some of you oldtimers---not age-- just forum members don't give up on us newbies. We still need your help so much. Thanks to all who post and show their new and older pictures. You are needed more than you think.

I'm glad to see my little "roll-call" has gotten such a good response. It's heartwarming to see that there are a good many schrade-aholics still out there!

Sometimes you gotta kick over the rocks and shake the bushes to get us out there Chuck! Nice goin'!!

For what it's worth, I do peek in here pretty often. Does seem quiet, though.

I did spend some time today, cleaning up an old 108OT a little bit. I know it's not much, compared to some of the WOW! pics I see posted here, but it's a nice little knife. I'll see if I can post a pic or two...

As others have echoed, MUCH THANKS!! to the real experts here for keeping us all enlightened in the joys of all things Schrade.

Best regards to all.

Please do share your pics. We're not schrade snobs, we like to see them all!

Thanks very much for your encouragement. :)

The camera's ready to go. I'll play with this in the morning, when my light's better (they look that much better under real sunlight). I have an 8OT and a 25OT stashed away too. Think I might dig them out...

Dave, that's a good looking knife! I am especially fond of the smaller knives where clip has the long pull. I think it adds a little more class. Thanks for the pics

Thank you, Sir!

I think I've had that knife for 20+ years. It occupied space in my desk drawer for most of that time. At some point, far enough back that I can't remember, I'd apparently tried to 'sharpen' it (I'm using that term very loosely, as applied to my complete lack of sharpening skill back then :p). Put some scratches on the blades in the process, without really improving the edges. It also developed a few small spots of rust, mostly on the clip blade. Lately, I began to look it over a bit more, and started to give it a little, well-deserved TLC. I've sort of come full circle, getting back to appreciating some of the more traditional knives I bought long ago. I accumulated a whole bunch of knives, of all sorts, in that time, and I'm now very glad I didn't get rid of the older ones. As 'plain & simple' as they seemed years ago, they're really looking quite beautiful to me now.

I like the look of the long pull on the main blade too. Adds a certain, refined touch to it, I think. Very handy on the smaller blades too (like this 108OT). I've bought a couple more of the 'old' USA OTs recently, an 8OT and a 25OT, and I think I'll take a few pics of those in the next day or two. I really do like the warm look of the brown sawcut Delrin and the 'OLD TIMER' shield on these old knives.

I hope that with the coming of the new year, folks will settle into their routines, and the traffic here will pick back up. I know for me, that is the case. The holidays can be expensive, and hopefully, we collectors will begin to see some funds open up for our passion, and that will have a "business as usual" effect on our forum.

Happy New Year to all. I resolve to try harder to get some of my Schrades put on here to get good and comments about. I don't have any of the pre 73 knives, but have some of the 73 plus knives that I am very proud of. I want to say again a very special THANKS to all of the long time collectors that take the time to show and tell about the old knives. I take great joy in looking and reading, and learning all I can about the Schrade-Schrade Walden--ETC knives. Keep the pictures and stories coming.
