I had a piece of "muktuk" the part where the skin meets the fat, 1/2" of greasy black and 1/2" of stark white about 2" long. Tough as INFI I gave up chewing and just swallowed. The piece I had had been cured in every hot spice they could find, it was crazy hot and a little fishy. Not terrible, I may try plane sometime, but I don't think I'm going to fill my freezer.
I've had seal jerky a few times, very dark meet and tastes like concentrated fish soaked in oil, one or two pieces of that and you body temp sky rockets. Sweating in a tee shirt at 10 deg F, with every dog in town following you because of the smell. Was good just very intense fish flavor.
