Wheres the love for the translucent blue manix 2?

I've got one coming. First, I just like the Manix 2. I've got six of them (if I recall). This one is different because of the translucent handles, of course. But, another thing I think I'll like is the wire clip and light weight.

i haven't gotten a new knife in a while and this one looks to be nicely priced and a new steel for me to try out. also, i like wire clips, and i find the blue a nice color/change from my normal black handled knives.

Did this get pushed back any? I have one on order, and the teaser date of release was...yesterday? Now I'm hearing ETA of end of November?

The one vendor I saw that had them yesterday now says sold out so I assume they had some??? The price was $132 however.

Oh I am pretty excited about getting one. I have one on pre-order from KW and hope it comes out this month, as they estimated it might around the 15th.

I just ordered mine. I'm interested because the weight to blade size ratio is excellent. I also like Spyderco's FRN handles and this new variation seems very promising. Add in the fact that a translucent blue handle is non-threatening and you're looking at what might be a good chocie for EDC.

I'm too much of an old fart to have any love for transparent plastic handles.

Same here. Just looks like cheap plastic. I would like to see one in person. Might change my mind.

Just got mine today..I don't love it. It is light...Knifecenter $83.90 shipped..

I've got two on order. I think the CTS-BD1 steel will be pretty good stuff, and plenty good for a small pocket knife.

If I was 13 again, I'm sure I'd be excited over the idea, but I'm too much of an old fart to have any love for transparent plastic handles.

It's funny, when I was 13 I was all about heavy bolstered traditional lockbacks and the black tactical stuff that was JUST starting to hit the knife magazines. Now at 30 years old I'm really looking forward to more colorful knives like the Manix 2 Lightweight.

I'm hoping to get mine before I deploy to Afghanistan this month. I received notice from GP on the 27th that my order was processing, and I called to make sure it was being sent to my current address, not the one I had when I placed the order. Despite that, tracking shows my Manix was sent to my old address. :( I'm hoping it will get forwarded to my current one.

Soldiers and other deployed troops carry a lot of gear. Sal told me the Translucent Manix II is just a few pounds under their strongest strength rating. The advantage of this knife is an extremely sturdy, large folding knife that weighs almost half of the standard G10 Manix II. So it's blue. Big deal. :)

Just arrived:

Hate to say it but to me it just could not look any cheaper.
I do not even like the clear lock release on the other Manix 2s,I would most likely buy a Manix 2 if Spyderco would use black plastic or metal on the lock release.

It doesn't look "cheapy" to me, but it also doesn't look like 85 dollars worth. I held it at BLADE and was under whelmed. With the steel, handles, and pinned construction I would feel ok with it at 45 bucks, but not 85. I guess I am a little skewed though.

I mean you can get a budget steel, pinned construction and FRN handles at 85 - and with the Para 2 you can get G10, compression lock, S30V (a HUGE step up from BD-1) and scew together construction for 25 dollars more? It's a no brainer.

I'll probably get one when the out-the-door street price drops a bit below the regular Manix 2.

Mine finally showed up. It's over 2 oz lighter than my G10 Manix 2. Opens easily, locks solidly. The plastic is grippy, but doesn't feel like it'll rip your hands or khakis. I'm not sure how I feel about the wire clip, but I definitely like the rest of the knife. I'm happy to have it before I leave for Afghanistan.

Hey, you know what else lies between rage and serenity? Life.

I've got mine and I can honestly say this is my favourite Spyderco ever! Extremely useful blade shape, buttery smooth opening and extremely light. This will quickly become one of my most carried knives, it easily defeats the excellent Endura for ergonomics, weight and ease of opening. Lockup is solid too. I like evreything about this knife!
