Wheres the Ultimate Cheapest Website to buy knives

hmmm...besides the obvious? And by the way, I see knives listed WAY over what they should be listed as on ebay. I saw a cold steel SRK with a BIN of $75! rip off. Who would ever pay retail? -Andrew

It's hard to beat newgraham or gpknives for price and service. I've ordered from newgraham more times than I care to admit, and always they've come through. gpknives has basically the exact came pricing as newgraham, with excellent service as well. IMO, newgraham gets the nod for the free bandaids and the option of USPS (always faster than UPS), but I woudn't hesitite in the slightest to order from gpknives again. Both are supporting dealers at bladeforums (they pay a considerable premium to advertise here), so when you buy there, you support bladeforums.

Then of course there's 1sks.com, which is owned by the same guy who owns/runs bladeforums.

I haven't used New Graham much (only twice), but I have found their prices to be great and they are known for their customer service. That isn't saying that other sites aren't great, too, but New Graham is the one I now use.

New Graham's prices may not be the lowest in every case, but they are very low and sometimes the best I have seen for a given knife.

I doubt he's making a lot of money off international shipping charges. As the notice says, "Due high rates of international credit card fraud, ..." he has priced himself out of a market he doesn't feel he's in a position to serve. The very expensive shipping option is the one that best protects him. There are alternative sources who are willing to deal with the risk. Would you have been happier if he just said, no international sales at all?

The seller razorsharpknives on Ebay is the best I have seen. His prices are usually at least 10% under any website and he only charges $4-$5 shipping. He has way over 28,000 positive feedback and 100% rating. I just picked up a new Military for $89. I think newgraham wanted about $112.

Yes, actually, because it is a more straightforward approach.

But it's no big deal - as a seller, they can follow whichever policies they choose, and as a buyer I can do the same.

I was merely pointing out the incongruity of recommending somewhere as "The ultimate cheapest website to buy knives" when they charge $150 for foreign shipping. And if you check out the other shipping options they aren't bargain basement either.

Just my $0.02 (+$150)

I have to give my vote to RAZORSHARPKNIVES on E-Bay as well. I bought my Cold Steel Trailmaster Bowie from them last year for about $94.00!!!! This was the best price I could find anywhere. I also got some CS Hawks as well for gifts. They were great to deal with, fast, cheap shipping, and they even sent them to my Dad's house at my request so my wife wouldn't find out...LOL!!! AAAA++++ E-Bay dealer!!!!

Three vendors (in no particular order), not previously mentioned in this thread, who I return to w/o reservation:

Bladematrix
Smokey Mountain Knife Works
IRA Wood & Sons

Best,

Trixx, I was going to ship some cookies my wife made over to Cork Ireland where my daughter is going to school her junior yr. Fex Ex 3-4 days delivery 109 bucks! 4-10 days 96bucks! USPS 4-10 days no guarentee it would even be there in 4-10 days 46.50. Load of crap for shipping charges if you ask me. That being said I am sure NGK is not making anything on the shipping charges at all. I belive this all due to energy costs. keepem sharp

The credit card companies have a rule that merchants who do business with them have to accept all their credit cards. If they catch you refusing a credit card purchase they won't do business with you any more.

I used to see a lot of "international credit cards not accepted" notices on the web. Apparently the credit card companies weren't enforcing their rule. Recently I haven't been seeing so many of those notices. I've been seeing notices like "international shipping is expensive -- check shipping costs before ordering!"
