I was surfing a national chain store website when I found the 18 inch blade stainless D guard machete. It looked similar to my Myerco machetes so I was intrigued. At $17.99 it wasn't much of a risk either.
The grey and black handle is the Whetstone, the black handle is the Myereco. Note the retention strap on the cheaper product. A slightly better sheath.
The tip end. The Whetstone still has the offset saw teeth. I removed the teeth from the 22 inch Myerco as I found it to not be a good saw for me. Plus the sharp notches I have read cause blade fractures.
The blade style leads me to think they hail from the same plant. The tang holes line up. It feels similar in flex too. I just need the weather to warm up to test it.
