Which American Knife Company made Colonel Koon Knives?

I'm believe it was an old brand that was revived for a short time by either queen cutlery or gec.
 
They used to manufacture their own knives up to the late 1980's when they sold out to Case. I believe that Smoky Mountain acquired the rights to the name and the most recent models were produced by Queen.
