Which Becker is the most tactical

tactical? practical? tacticool? tractipractical?

define the parameters of the mission/op and expected duties?

there's no one tool for all jobs.

except the machax :)

okay, maybe not.

i'd go with the BK10 as the best all round wide blade with enough edge to do "stuff", solid enough for ALMOST anything... not too long, not too short.

chances are you're not going to be chopping up stuff, or prying tank treads off, and you'd have better tools.

though, i'm reminded the fiskars X2 hatchet is pretty nice :)

weight... consideration.

the tweeners should solve the tactical issue nicely.

I would say the BK7 as well. I mean, its name is the "BK7 Combat Utility".

I think I would take that, and then a folder or multitool for the small stuff.

Bk-10, IMHO. I got one of the new, Ka-Bar limited ones, and I love it, but I'm not sure I'll ever use it. Its swedge, grind, and thin spine don't really lend themselves to woods/survival/camp use. It is fast in hand and extremely well-balanced though, and seems like it would be a great fighter.

For most utility all around and less weight for the size, BK7.

Now, the BKT that we have reports of actually getting used as a CQC weapon, and winning, the BK3.

im gonna go out on a limb here and say the bk9 - because it looks and bfeels badass

I keep the BK3 On my tac vest or in my patrol bag it is a tool that can be used to extract someone from a car or getting in to a house. And if thing got rough its not really a fighing knife but would not feel have a problem defending my self with it.

the tactical tool, according to Erika :)

Erika would know, she's been battling a Suicide Girl armed with a Machax for the starring role in my dreams all week.

Cutting zip ties and opening MRE's was all I used my knife for in Iraq. The Iraqis did seem to be impressed by a large fixed blade. The vest was the preferred carry since the kids had sticky fingers stuff could disappear off your belt pretty easy. Id vote for a BK-2

different roles i imagine, speaking only for myself(L/E) BK2 for my tack vest, bk7-9 are both to big for a vest, especially if worn vertically, the 7 with sheath is over a foot long. I know some guys that were about the same type/style/size on their tack belts but usually on a vest anything bigger than a 5-6 in blade gets cumbersome. In this role, like others have stated, the knife becomes more of a tool or a super-SHTF-last ditch item(M4 or Benelli and sidearm both fail) not likely but ya never know, lol.

I'm putting my vote for the BK12. I'm an officer in a mostly rural town and I carry mine in my patrol bag as a just in case for any situation that may come up. but in the same sense I also carry my BK14 on duty.

I carried a BK-7 on two tours in Iraq, and couldnt have been happier with its performance. Its never failed to cut or pry anything that it was asked to. The only issue I can bring up is its size and weight. There isnt a lot of room on the FLC for the necessary gear as it is, and a large knife is going to be tough to fit. I carried mine on strong side hip on the trouser belt, which worked for me but may not for others.

I hate to be a naysayer, but none of them. They are not tactical objects, nothing is, save the human mind. The most useful in my opinion is the bk7, big enough to get any job done, small enough to be easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
RRR1977- I carry mine directly behind my strong hip, so I have room for a sidearm/leatherman/flashlisht in front of it if need be, and it also gives me access to my pockets.
