Wood processing, clearing a few trails, general camp duties, etc...
get the 9 - just be careful when cutting pie that you don't cut through the sides of the pie pan...For the items in red, I'd say BK-9. For the item in green, I'd go with the BK-2.
The BK-9 can still do a lot in terms of general camp duties, however.
It's just going to be a bit big/unwieldy if you're trying to slice smaller foods and such.

if you CAN get a BK6 (a real one, not a chinese knockoff), do soregardless. they're very hard to get.
otherwise, well, a 2 or a 9. depends on what you NEED it for right? eventually you'll get both, so ... xmas comes early.

Is there a way to spot the knock offs of the BK 6 without having it in hand?
Me I'd reccomend the BK5 Magnum Camp.
also also, the blades came as silver or some-other suspicious thing. iirc.
That's only in the signature series, high quality there
and they wanted something like $150 for them
That sounds about right for a high quality blade..

Seriously, I voted for the 9 as a first knife, but only because its sheer power will suck you into the vortex of additional knives.
Those are all three very different blades. What do you plan as primary uses?
