Im looking to get a good, bulletproof, chopper to pair with my bushcraft knife. Beckers seem to fit the bill, but I can't tell if Ima need the 2, 7, or 9.

any suggestions are welcomed.

Start with the king! (bK9)

Won't be the only Becker though! bK2 is a good starter too....

If you have a bushcraft knife already and want a chopper, the bk9 is definitely the way to go. It's vastly superior to the other two as a chopper. In fact, I didn't think it would be much different than the bk7, so I bought that one first. Then, I used a bk9 in a pass around and was blown away by it. My bk9 goes with me on every camping trip now.

For a chopper get the 9, or if you want something a bit more compact and esoteric (but an equally good chopper), get the 4.

I did the same thing as mrn8, I bought a 7 first, and now that I have my 9 I can safely say it's getting picked everytime I go camping

Chopper? Go for the 9. The other 2 aswell as the 5 don't come that close and even against the 4 I still think the 9 wins.

BK9
I don't have one... yet. But I've used my friends. Actually, that's the reason I bought my BK16. He had it sent to my house while he was out on a job. I opened it up and my first reaction was to laugh. The thing looked comicly huge! But I quickly started realizing how well made it was. It was suprisingly balanced and the grips fit the hand nicely. He had also ordered micarta scales so I put those on and fell in love with the thing.
I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet, but when I started looking for a camping and hunting knife the BK9 fueled my decision to go with a Becker.

I have the 2, 16 and 9. I bought the 2 & 16 first and recently got the 9 about a month ago. I like to baton wood for the campfires & make kindling. I use the 9 mostly around camp and take the 16 backpacking & hiking.

I have beat my 16 to death, but I can split some pretty large logs at camp with the 9. My 2 does not see as much use these days. I always have some type of saw handy and a medium size wood splitter around camp for the bigger stuff.

My vote goes to the 9. When I first ordered it I said to myself, "Why in the world did I order this huge knife?" Well, after a weekend of fun stuff doing some camp chores and taking it out on the trail for some trail maintenance I changed my mind real quick.
