Which Benchmade are you carrying today?

940 blade in a 943 handle. One day I'd like to try a ferric chloride acid wash + stonewash, blacked out axis bar and OD green G10 scales.

IMG_1583.JPG My new BM Big Summit Lake really like the traditional mixed with modern. Came in the mail today and haven't been able to put it down.

Now that the new Bugout has demonstrated its prowess of opening dog food bags, it has received Coda's seal of approval :)

I realized this morning I hadn't had a Benchmade in my pocket for a while so I grabbed this pair for a short day at the jobsite, finishing up the cutting, layout, and prep for a small addition to the back of my garage conversion project. I've got a few 710s and 705s I can match up. These are my two well-worn users and maybe my favorites out of all of them.

Real men carry pink....It confuses the anti-knife folks and has proven to be less dangerous and stabby than a black handled one.

Thanks for the kind words, jkarp_53 jkarp_53 . I do feel I have a bit of history in my pocket whenever I carry these. There are lots of great Benchmades both older and newer and I have quite a few. I wouldn't wish any of them out of existence, but I also have the sense that when BMK came up with these two that they could have stopped right there. The 710 and 705 can pretty much cover all one's folding knife needs.

BTW, this 710 had a really messed up "sharpening" job on it when it came to me. Aside from all the other work I put into it, it took me several sessions to get the edge right and re-profiled the way I wanted. D2 is pretty resistant to removal, but now the blade has a polished 15 dps secondary with a 20 dps micro on it and boy does it cut great! :p

I like any pic with a 710 in it, KrisNZ KrisNZ !

I haven't been able to get my favorite 710/705 pairing out of my pocket for the last three work days. What's left of that Buck Adrenalin is my usual jobsite beater and the lionSTEEL SR1-G is brand-new and comes along as a plaything for when there's a break in the action. The older I get, the more frequently do those breaks occur! :p

Ok, right back with today's carry--my trusty 806 AFCK and left-pocket light-carry Proper. No heavy lifting today, not that these two couldn't take it! ;)
