Which Benchmade are you carrying today?

DOAT made the scales a couple of years ago for this knife. Carbon fiber with inlays made from post-war, German bakelite/catalin.

Reese Weiland ground the damascus billet, which was forged by Mike Norris. The steels are CPM-154, AEB-L, & D2. Mike is the the only maker forging the Turkish Twist pattern using stainless. (It's notoriously prone to tearing when twisted).

I got together with Mike and Reese at Blade ‘16 and they agreed to the project.

It was a long time coming, but the results are better than I expected. A bunch of good dudes helped to make this knife happen, not to mention Benchmade for producing the iconic AFCK.

Very cool. That is a work of art.

Grip today.
