Which Benchmade are you carrying today?

It took me a little while to figure out the three hole pattern on your 710, before realizing that you simply didn't open up the front rear ones. My custom wood-scaled -1401 has all five exposed.

I've presently got three 710's and, despite having many, many more expensive and really good knives, this old, well-used work knife is way toward the top of my favorites list and got carried and used again the last couple days.

The first one I saw on here way back then had all five, but I didn't like the look of the holes cut through the factory g10 ridges so went with three myself. For custom scales without those all five definitely make sense having all five so it's the full length

Edit here's a pic from sloth357 showing five holes with factory g10. Personally I like the five hole look but not cut through the ridges uncentered like this. Total custom like yours is perhaps the best choice

I hadn't thought of it much, but, seeing your knife and the one above, I definitely prefer what you did. Among the many things I favor on the 710 are those diagonal mill-outs in the G10. I see the 5-hole pictured knife also has a thumb ramp milled into the scale. That's an interesting mod, as I have no trouble access the thumb-studs on my 710's.

Speaking of those diagonals, I just got one of my 705's out with its one-per-side milling and I'll carry that too today as my 710 is still with me. I'll get some pics of the pair together later for posting. Also, looking at sloth's AFCK got my 806BK out of the drawer to check out its hole pattern--6 of varying sizes. Modding that would be kinda cool, but the knife is all but like new and it seems almost a sacrilege to mod something classic and largely irreplaceable.

This Presidio II has been a nice favorite since I got it, and it seems to grow on me more and more. It fits my hand like it was made for me, and is just what I want it to be. I have more Benchmade knives than I should, but this one is a great find.
