Which Benchmade?

Now, I know there are many other good brands around, but I'm only talking Benchmade right now.

I have the Benchmade 806D2, 814HS, and just ordered a 720BT. I have also been looking into a Griptilian 550...

My question is, which one Benchmade should I get to round off my collection (for now)?

How about the 940?

Good gentlemans folder. Really nice knife.

Or the 710?

Big, useful, highly recommended.

Maybe a fixed blade? The outlander is cool.

Good luck!

The CQC7 is nice, but I don't like the tanto tip very much...

The 940 looks nice, but what is with the green handles? They look ugly to me! The 710 looks really nice though.

I also like the Nimravus, maybe I should get a fixed blade...

Okay I'll put in a 2nd vote for the Nimravus also. Mine has been good on camping trips this past summer. The stock sheath isn't to my liking but the knife design and execuation works well.

Which one do you have? The one with the carbon fiber, or the new all kydex one?

I plan on getting a sheath from Normark anyway if I buy another fixed blade.

I have the original Kydex version (not the new one with tek lock). Tension is way too slack on my version. Getting an aftermarket rig from Eric should be a given for this knife.

One day I'll get one.:)

Hmm, this is pretty hard question...
Probably I could advise to get:
  • Model 940 Osborne or clones as daily carry folder
  • Model 770 Osborne or clones as gentleman’s folder
  • Model 140 Nimravus as outdoors/tactical fixed blade
  • Model 145 Nimravus Cub as urban concealed carry tactical fixed blade
  • Model 180 Outbonder as little and versatile wilderness fixed blade (supported by decent medium-sized axe of course :))
  • Model 710 as outdoors/tactical folder
  • Model 730 or clones as urban tactical folder
  • Model 160 Tether neck knife
Sorry, Dude, but it is impossible to round off your collection with one single BENCHMADE only :D

Ways to know your a BladeForums newbie(thats me)......You have to check the benchmade website because you dont know the model numbers.

Get the original axis, the 710. The first, and maybe (maybe) still the best. IMO, you already have the second best BM, the 720 (or 721).

I'd suggest one of the 94x knives. There are quite a few to choose from so at least one should trip your trigger. ;)

How about a 42? That would have to be my Favorite Benchmade. If you like playing with knives there is none more playfull than a Bali-song.
