So you guys lucky enough to make it to Uncle E's fall gathering which blade saw the most belt time for you? When you were at the beckerhead mecca which blade did you reach for the most? Since the woods edc is WAY different then your norm edc, which won the honor? Was it the same blade you used for the contests? Post up what you took and carried. As always pics are a necessity :D

Though there was some skills instruction back in the spring, the Gathering this time did not involve much backwoods bushcraft. The main pavilion looked more car camping than primitive site.
As a result, the knife that saw the most time for many folks was the BK-5 because of Jerry Fisk's presence and because of the cutting competition, which required the use of a BK-5.
I carried a couple of smaller fixed blades, a Busse Muk and a Ray Laconico Bushcraft/Utility. Both are knives I like very much.
But I used my folder more than anything else--a ZT 0551. When you're mainly cutting open another bag of Nebraska Star jerky, the folder is just handier. :p

I had a BHK bush baby on my Maxped and a Phat Bob in my pocket. There were all kinds of knives there.

As per usual, my BK2 rode my belt for the entirety of the gathering, but saw little use what with the BK5 also being carried around for most of the weekend.

Derek wanted to "carry" my FBM SE '07, but I saw the look in his eye and eventually finagled it out of his kung-fu death grip.

Camptweener. :D From Thurday morning to Sunday afternoon. :D

There were a few times when I crossdraw carried my BK5.

I had my ZT0350, my Spyderco ParaMilitary and my SAK Rucksack, but they are permanent fixtures.

I'll be honest Biscuit, the thought had crossed my mind to see if there was some way I could make off with it. Crossed my mind several times. :D

It is a heck of a boat anchor, but dang if it wasn't just as sexy as I had hoped. Gunna need to get me one of those.

Man, since it was my birthday, you'd have though Moose would have given me a CampTweener or a Carbon V Trailmaster or something. :D :D

Well you did score a free BK7, so there is that.

Don't forget the sheath. No doubt, within about 45 minutes, the entire sweet combo fell into my lap unexpectedly. I ain't complainin'. Just yankin' Moose's chain.

I carried the BK5 since none of my steel flew with me from the city. On a secondary note, I was absolutely looking forward to buy the Horkos however a note to everyone, the standard sheath grips it so tight it rips the coating right off.

The tweener was a loaner, and the TrailMaster Carbon V was MINE!!!!! :D

I got you a steak dinner, what else you want?

Besides, who bring Busse's to a BKT Gathering? :D

Crème brûlée and a hammock cuddle buddy?

Shoulda told me. I was pretty drunk and tired Saturday, I just kicked my bedroll out on the pavillion floor. Which sucked, but I did sleep.

Sleepin' double in your hammock would have been preferable. :D

Here is the real question... Do you like the camptweener more, or less than your beloved BK2? Are they even comparable in how they feel?

Any comparison shots of them as well?

I ended up carrying my BK-5+BK-11 combo this weekend. Partly because my only Big Becker (so far) is the 5, and partly because I only had to chop once for 60 seconds. :D The 5 did everything I asked of it and I didn't even have to strop it. That being said, I could have easily borrowed something else; but I didn't ever feel the need to.

Uncle E was kind enough to let me play with his camp tweener. It's a whole different knife. I have used a BK-2 a few times and it is an absolute tank. The camp tweener is extremely well balanced, right around the thumbnail and middle knuckle of the index finger for me. A bit of a contrast from the forward weight of the '2.

The camp tweener kinda melts into my hand and is a real nice looking knife to boot. Uncle E more or less told me that this was his "grail knife" that he'd wanted to make since the beginning. I can see why. I will be getting one as soon as they are out and/or as soon as I can scrape up the cash.

That being said, I'd like to hear from a die-hard BK-2 fan on this issue.
