which blade steel would you choose?

The nice thing about this exercise is that no matter what you choose, you've got the right answer :) If Thomas's stainless steel damascus really performs as well as straight 154-CM, I'd be sorely tempted to go that route.

As it is, I went with S30V

Thanks guys for all the input. Seems the favorite is S30V with BG42 a close second. I was leaning towards S90V since I don't have any blades with that steel but will have to rethink this since I recently read S90V chips. Will also check out the Damascus stainless as that does seem interesting.
 
Funny, with all the choices Scott offers, I wanted the one that wasn't available: Talonite. I asked him a couple of times - no dice.

Now I own a S30V Lochsa bought in the aftermarkt but I have a S90V on order from him. I consider that the cream of the crop of the offered choices.
