Which blades would you take on a 10 day DIY hunting trip to Alaska?

The BK14 and Hunt blade are my EDC, I grabbed the larger two when I got out of my truck. Honestly I would be happy with just the BK9 and BK17 for the described scenario.

Not a whole lot I couldn't get accomplished with those two.

What's that lower knife? Looks awesome!

Bryan breeden custom tracker type design that me and him worked on, along with either my small neck knife or a psk for fine work. That's all I'd want.

Interesting how my thoughts have changed over the past year. I would still take my same selection, but understand now that I could do jsut fine with a Mora and nothing else. I wouldn't like, but believe I could do it.

I've done a couple of drop-off moose hunts in Canada, as well as a remote Caribou hunt. I take a Leatherman Wave on all my hunting trips. If something breaks or needs adjusting and you don't have the tools, your expensive hunt is ruined. Add a Busse BAD or Fallkniven F1 (or the larger Busse CABS or Fallkniven S1 for Alaskan game) and a S&N Hudson Bay axe and I'd be over the three-pound limit. I really think I'd find other gear to cull because I wouldn't want to be on a remote hunting trip without a good multi-tool, fixed blade knife and an axe.

Stay sharp,

I would take my neck knife.

I would also take my WSK.

That is what I would take for my trip.

I'm with you Bryan, the WSK would be the way to go. Especially the one your making for me. I might mess around and actually try an overnight or two with just that and a tarp and see how I do using it for all my jobs. That blade is sick it's so hard waiting for a breeden blade. I sympathize with anyone who has orderd a knife from Bryan and had to wait lol

1. Fiddleback forge Bushfinger in S35VN
2. Wetterlings Axe
3. Leatherman wave (for tools, extra blades, small saw)

Bushfinger:

In ugly kydex (I have prettier leather as well :D )

I'm usually isolated a few days alone in the mountains when hunting and usually skip the axe if I want to go light. Newer carried (or needed) a blade over 5" for main use either ;)

Killinumsofly, thanks, yea waiting sucks when you have something on order.

I for got I would also take my leather man wave multi tool I find having a pair of pliers
just works great for grabbing on to things even while in the wood and while fishing.
