Which BM axis?

BM 730. Handle is very comfortable. Also prefer the plain blade. This is the only axis model I have and I'm very happy with this one.

Ah, the old "what's your favorite axis lock" question. I love my 710, love my 705, love my 940. I'm particularly fond of the 940 - it has just that right mix of beauty and function. I'm sure that my list of "favorite" axis locks will expand as I continue to buy Benchmade products. Maybe a better question would have been "does anybody have an axis lock that they don't like?".

730 Ares cause it's what I got and I got it for a good price $110 aside from that it is second only to my AFCK as far as speed ease of use and quik draw versatility, and it's legal to carry to boot! Also have an Eclipse, an AFO Auto, and a Mini Reflex, but they're more of a toy than an EDC

I work at a knife store. The 940 was the first knife I bought here. I haven't purchased (out of my pocket) another until last week when I bought a Camillus Maxx. Does that tell you anything.

Ok, so I'm new to BM folders; just got my 1st one the other day, a 720 which I think is excellent. Why the preponderance of 940 preferences?

Thanks,

-dave

yep, 940 is a great axis lock, fits my hands perfectly and is very very smooth to open. cool bladeshape too

The 940 is slim and lightweight. The blade is a decent size (I think 3.4"). The shape of the blade is an agressive reverse tanto. The axis lock is reliable and ambidexterous. I never really appreciated mine until I used it to scrape some shelf paper off the kitchen cupboard. Ahter a couple hours of scraping it was pretty dull. A few passes on the 204 and it was shaving sharp. I was impressed at the performance and the reasonable price. I think now you can find them for less than $120.00.

Recently picked up a 805 TSEK Axis, plainedge. Nice stone-washed finish. Incredibly smooth action. It *might* be more comfortable for those with slightly larger hands, but even my somewhat small hands have no trouble operating it quickly and easily. I like the modified drop point (weehawk??) blade shape and incredibly sharp edge geometry. Also love the AFCK handle it comes in. Now I am thinking I might like it even more if it comes out in mini-TSEK Axis form.

I only have one Axis; my 720. Also wouldn't mind seeing the Mini-TSEK in an Axis version, although I like the one I have a lot!

My 710 has returned to me, good as new, and a great deal earlier than i was expecting it (BM's customer service is good). My tendancy since it has been gone has been towards smaller folders, the 940 is def on my list, it seems there is a lot of love for it here. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna end up owning most of the BM axis lock folders, it's only a matter of time :)

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated :D
