Which BM next?

I have both the rittergrip and the 806d2, and like them both a lot (those two comprise my EDC, rotating on an approximately even basis, depending on what I feel like any given day or week), I say if what you want is the 806, go for it and you wont be disappointed, it's a great knife. The only slight annoyance I've had with it is it came with a fairly obtuse edge angle on it, and it's taken me forever (well, quite a few hours anyway) to get it all down to where I can sharpen it down to the very tip with the sharpmaker, but part of that was that it was one of my first attempts to sharpen something, and that I'm too lazy to buy the diamond rods.

Have a good look at the 710HS. Its fit and finish is close to perfect and being a slightly recurved blade shape, makes an excellent slicer.

Amen!

My particular iteration is the BM 710 HSSR, the semi-serrated version. I know some knuts purse their lips at the idea of "half-wiggly" knives, but it really is excellent. The fact that the serrations occupy the section of blade most awkward to sharpen with my Edge Pro doesn't hurt, either!

Well if you are set on a benchmade, then i'd have to echo the rest and say the 710HS or the 806D2. I have both, and i like both, although they usually sit in my drawer because my military is in my pocket all the time.

Despite the fact that i hear a lot of people compliment the ergos of the 806 i dont like it. It's very uncomfortable in comparison to my military, which uses its long handle much more effectively. The handle on the 710HS is very comfortable however, and you seem to get a ton of blade for the size of the handle, which i like.

Also, if you are used to spyderco's hole then you will be disappointed with the 806's. Its small, the edges are rounded off way too much, and without the triangular shaped blade it sits too close to the handle for my taste. I can only get the edge of my thumb on it. If you get the 806 you probably will never use the hole, i know i never do. Just pull back the axis lock slightly and snap it open, its much easier.

Overall i prefer the 710HS. It feels considerably smaller in the pocket, carries a lot better, and is not as visible, despite the blade being nearly the same size. It also slices better than the 806 and i prefer M2 over D2, but that's a small difference. The Axis lock is obviously a great lock, and you already have one so you know what to expect, same deal on both of these knives.

You can't go wrong with either one, but I'd go with the 710.

Never had a problem with it...

Gajinoz, you need a big knife for the Outback. Get a Nimravus! Then, when you decide you don't want it any more, send it to me!

Yeah my vote is with the 707. Despite its length it cuts extremley well, is pretty grippy, and is just so damn nice looking. And its my EDC ;) . Ull come to like it. (Btw i got a 707 as my second benchmade aswell, not only that right after i owned the same griptilian as you do. Am i convincing you yet?)

Damn! You guys make it hard. I think jujawa might have helped talk me out of the 806 but now I'm torn between the 710HS, (everyone has nothing but praise for it), and the 707 which, I must admit, is a nice looking knife.

Decisions decisions ....
