Which brands are good for utility knives?

i'm kinda looking for a ~6-7 in blade. cuz i'm looking to cut down little tree for fuel logs and shelter.. etc

i love benchmade for my small pockets..

+1 on the Mora as a good, useful knife that you don't have to worry about. Try stretching some bike tube over the handle for a better grip.

If you're looking to cut down small trees though, I would highly recommend a Gerber or Fiskars folding/sliding saw. I've used both as a saw for hunting (pruning trees, building blinds, clearing shooting lanes), and they are excellent for that intended purpose.
