Which brands have you bought and then sold/given away and bought again the most

I get depressed when I think about all the knives that passed through my hands. I tried untold Spyderco, Benchmade and many others, searching for some illusion. Now I carry a Buck, like I did 40 years ago. I could have gotten by with two pocketknives, two kitchen knives and a machete and then my children would still have an inheritance.

Medford, Busse, Dervish have all been bought/sold/bought. I gift a lot of Cold Steel, Vosteed, Mora and SAKs.

Now what fun would that be?

Tops, recent cold steel and Kershaw / Emerson line. I probably won’t buy any of these brands again.

Esee - I’ve gifted about 7 Esee’s, a few 4’s, 5’s and 6’s.. a 3 and a rat 3 as well. I will definitely keep buying Esee knives.

Benchmade. Have bought and sold the 940 five or six times.

Benchmade were one of the best brands back when I started my journey. But after receiving one too many disappointments I vowed never to buy another product from them, sold off everything that wasn't a gift or had sentimental value. Latter experiences with the brand left such a sour taste in my mouth I rarely even carry what I do have left.

I have given quite a few traditional Case knives as Christmas presents. Many were custom engraved. Case knives are an expensive gift but a special gift also. I also give Rough Ryder Christmas knives as gifts. Less expensive but still special. The Rough Ryder's i generally keep 1 for myself. The Case I often already have a non-engraved 1 myself. For close male friends a knife is a great gift, and all, but especially the engraved ones could be considered heirloom and passed down.
