Which bugout would you choose and why?

So my original question kind of got side tracked. I ended up with the Smoky Mt m4bugout with Flytanium Ti scales and also the 535-4 aluminum m390. I am only going to keep one, so which one do I pick? Hmmmm.....

I have the M390 version, albeit a custom version of it. Not a fan of the aluminum scales so my local shop custom built me a BK-2 version with the M390 blade. I have some g-10 crossfade scales coming anyway. And yes they discounted the price since I wasn’t getting the aluminum scales and red hardware.
back to why, cause M390 serves my purposes perfectly. It isn’t the easiest to sharpen true, but I strop mine after extended use and so I rarely have to put any of my 390s on sharpeners. M390 is an outstanding steel and so far it appears benchmade does a good job with it. I have consistently had chipping issues with benchmades S30v. Love the bugout, but I detest omega springs. That along with the S30v kept me away from the bugout for a while. Their 20cv despite chemically being the same doesn’t have the same performance as M390 at least benchmades didn’t.
So with the M390 now in the bugout platform, I’ll give the omega springs a pass. I like the steel and the bugout size, carry ability and usefulness that much.

I just threw a set of blue G10 crossfade scales on my 535-GRY. Wish it was a bit darker blue color but the scale shape of the crossfade makes it really nice in-hand. Plus G10 stiffens and balances the weight very well. I doubt it gained but maybe .1 oz, but in a good way. Now I just need to find a new thumb stud and spacers, because the gold doesn’t work for me. I wonder if I can use gun bluing on the thumb stud/spacers?

I have a few 535s, but my favorite is my first 535GRY-1, bone stock and coated with gray Chromium Nitride, before they switched to Cerakote.
Come to think of it, except for some carry clip changes, all of my Bugout models are still basically configured as purchased...
Looking at some of the scale swaps you guys have done is giving me an itchy trigger finger!

I've decided on keeping the m390. I have a few m4 blades but no m390, and I just really like the look of it. One of the best sets of factory scales I've ever seen and I love the red accents.

I have had most of the variants listed and while I generally despise aluminum handles, the 535bk-4 has the most solid feel; lock-up and action are on point.
I have the 535BK-4, the 535-3, 535GRY in Rougue Carbon fiber and the 535BK in hand made CF Shred scales. The aluminum is heaviest, but a very nice feel.

S90V with DOAT scales is pretty badass though…

390 rocks!
I've got it on a couple of knives: just no Benchmades... yet!

I'm waiting to choose the Bugout model with a 4-4.25 inch blade, same thickness. The Bugout is cool, but it's too small. The Bailout is almost there, but it needs the same blade shape as the Bugout.

I could be waiting for a while.

If you're going big: take a look at some of the swords that are available...
Guaranteed to get you your choice of restaurant seating! 😁

I bought a Bailout with aluminum scales and put titanium scales on my Bugout.
I like metal scales......although have knives with G10, FRN, aluminum, titanium and some not sure what the scales are........LOL
Everyone is different, some like G10 or maybe a certain type of scales for a particular knife.
First rule enjoy.

Where did you get a Mini Bugout with an M4 blade?
I was actually talking about my Custom Shop Mini-Griptilian.
But now that the Bugout is available with C.F. scales, and S90V steel...

I also have a Mini Grip in M4. Put a mirrored edge on it and promptly cut my thumb cutting fishing line. the skin sorta made a popping sound as it cut nice and cleanly.
