Hi All!

If you could only afford one Busse knife (Jerry's or Jennifer's ;) ) which one would it be and why. Variants are out as they are too pricey and the enviroment for use is suburban, not rural.

Hey SB, welcome to the forum.

Jerry's combat line is a great value by any standard. I would recommend the Steel Heart E. In my opinion, it has the most versatality of the combat line, a great compromise for chopping and fine work. Despite the reputation as a chopper, it it very sharp, and works well as a slicer. I have used mine in the kitchen with great results. It would be my choice for a first knife.

However; you do understand that you are asking a bunch of affected, admitted, full blown busse addicts?...so be warned, you will join us soon.:D

SB,
Tell us what you want to use it for and I'm sure a few people will be
more then willing to offer their suggestions.;)

My use would be general cutting, light chopping, your average utility use. Of course, it needs to be useful if the SHTF. I don't need a monster blade and I was thinking of the SJ, GM, BA or AS. OF course, if the argument is strong enough I may get a monster blade, just in case!

If your main uses will be in the urban environment, I suggest a smaller Busse, like the Badger Attack III. It will be a lot easier to EDC than the larger Busses, and, unless you quite a bit of chopping, is more practical for your uses, IMHO. Then again, I'm not exactly sure of your uses.

No matter what you choose, however, you can't go wrong with Busse :D

Steel Heart - E

Flagship, kicks a$$, and fits a wide range of needs.

Then get the BA3 and an AS

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I second the SH E!

I started with a SH II (A-2), then got a SH II (INFI), then a Mean Street, a BA E, two NO's, an AS and the latest is a Swamp Rat Camp Tramp (which is excellent, BTW). A little lighter than the full Busse line, quick in the hand and an excellent value (and they are in stock right now!)

After getting one Busse, you WILL get another.

If the SH E is too big, then the BA III will probably do really well for your needs. If you need something bigger and are on a budget, get a Camp Tramp.

When/if I get deployed to battle, the Steel Heart will be on my side, literally!

For your first Busse I'd say either the SJ CG or the BAg3 :D

I love the Badger and the new generation 3 is a real hit. :D

Let us know what you decide.

I think the Satin Jack is the best overall knife in the Busse line. If you need to chop, get an axe.

Even though the Satin Jack is my favorite (especially the Nimrod Special Edition Satin Jack);) and the Natural Outlaw my most often carried Busse (this may not be the case after this hunting season with the BAg3) I would have to say thaty the Steel Heart would have to be the one if there could only be one. It is, IMO, the essence of Busse. It is what I think of when I think of a Busse knife.

Maybe I should just get a Steel heart, so I can see what the fuss is all about. :) Great; another knife. The wife is really going to love this. Can I stay with one of you guys?

If I could only get one I'd get a Steel Heart. It's not too big and not too small. If you are looking for something smaller go for the Natural Outlaw, if you want something bigger there's the Battle Mistress.

Anything you pick will more than exceed your wildest expectations! The first one will be enough to infect you with INFI-itis... and then you feel like you must have them all! Muahahahaha!

Eric, if she kicks me out because of my knives, you can bet your booty the knives are coming with me!
