For me its mostly edc, and the cult knife, uh I mean cultellus knife has just taken over that role.

100% user here!!! i only have 2 now so that probably why :D (not including skelly that i am trying to sell. The badgers and wardens are the way to go man. I EDC my GW, and i hike and camp (i dont cook) with my CG BATAC.

But i put for my final decision EDC because i go out side more than i camp and hike :D

I mostly buy users and gift knives, and still spend more $$ over all on collectors knives.

Let's see, last year I got 9 AK's three PBSs and several SKs and one New model Game Warden as users an gifts.

I got one Hood Knife, one early Straight Steel Heart variant , one presentation SHBM #350 and one combat grade One of Three hundred.

About even as far as $$ spent, well pretty close anyway, a little more on the users and gifts after adding the costs for the sheaths.

I voted other.
I buy and carry Busse's and Swamp Rats for a variety of reasons. My primary use is for Search and Rescue. My larger blades see secondary use around camp and the smaller blades get some EDC use.

Tameshigiri. Straw mats and young bamboo, mostly. I choose Busse for this because INFI steel is the best steel on the planet. I sometimes struggle to find a new design that works well for this purpose, as many Busse blades are choppers, not slicers. But the AKs are particularly nice (especially with a convex grind and satin finish) and will last a lifetime, which is why I pick them over traditional shoto, such as those on bugei.com.

Camping but I also use mine almost every day at home for fire prep and often just on odds and ends, and zombie de-animation. :D

the only busses i have that are completely unused are the ones i just havent had the opportunity to use yet.

i edc a gw, so that obviously gets the most use. but i also make a few camping trips a year so take a few out to play with each time.

no, dave, i havent used the shba. yet. :)

Camping but I also use mine almost every day at home for fire prep and often just on odds and ends, and zombie de-animation. :D

Keep in mind that our young friend insists on living in SoCal ... so he has many zombies requiring (demanding?) de-animation. :p

I need a AK for these pesky zombies around Washington :D

There needs to be a poll on how many people read the zombie survival guide (best book in the world!!!)

EDIT: campings winning (so far), thats not that big of a suprise but i think that or EDC will win.

Collector :D

i love your pics!!! i sometimes wish i had a job like yours where a big knife was actually a useable tool, rather than a toy.

but alas, i would be useless in a sar capacity. i get airsick, seasick, carsick if i look down too long or read, and have little natural sense of direction. :(

Darn, I'm all confused now! I started with just users...and I still prefer to use 'em...but I EDC one, and I may just be collecting another...and, well, I like Kool Aid...what's a girl to do? :D

You didn't offer "Mainlining INFI" as an option?

I think Eric said it best

" A needle and a spoon. Send ya on a trip to the moon"

but damn man. "INFI" that sounds like it might hurt ya

I prefer the BAttle Mistress models which are a bit too heavy for hiking and expeditions. I prefer to use it as a tool for chopping, mainly wood for garden cleaning and for making sculptures which is one of my hobbies. I think you could put "tool" on your list.

I'll buy whatever fits in some user role. Hunting Fishing Camping EDC etc. Whatever use I may need a knife for, I want to have a Busse to fit the bill. Sometimes you may have to make up a niche though!:D Shooters know how this works, like buying a .458 Lott just in case someone invites you to Africa.
