Which Case Sowbelly...

I intend to pick up a single blade sowbelly at some point. The sowbelly fits my hand like it was made for it and is the most comfortable pattern I’ve ever used. However, I think you may be missing the boat with the single blade. The true beauty of a sowbelly is the angle it puts the Spey at for precision use

I agree, nothing more classic than a yellow delrin case, especially in cv. I like the classic shield they use on the yellow knives, also.

........ah, don’t forget the smart Ebony variety..!

Have been carrying this one solidly for about a week now and enjoying it immensely. Very smooth and tactile to roll around between the fingers in yer pocket too.

Hats off to Tony Bose yet again, it is a most elegant pattern, very satisfying to look at even when sat on the table doing nowt.

Of course, you’d not go wrong with yellow delrin either...

.......and the knife fancier’s motto - buy both :D

I have a harvest orange pocket worn version and it's really nice. The pocket worn feel goes great with this pattern. I think I saw someone already had a black burl and that looks awesome. That's one I'd look into....

LOL, and just when I thought I had my mind made up.

OK, here's where I am after all of the sage advice received in this thread. I'm gonna purchase the Case Medium Stockman punch cv in yellow delrin, the Case Bose SHOT Show 2016 single blade sowbelly in smooth ebony, AND...I'm now on the search for a Case sowbelly stockman in chestnut bone cv! Those chestnut bone sowbellies are absolutely gorgeous!!

Gotta love this place :D

Mingecutter Mingecutter I highly recommend this one if you can still find it. I find myself selecting it for daily carry over knives that cost much more. The shape and ergonomics are perfect. The sunken joints give it a special look. Even though it is long, the single blade keeps it thin and light. I love the jigging and color of the bone as well as the finish on the blade and bolsters. Some people complain about the Carhartt shield, but to me it is much nicer than the cheap looking shields Case currently uses on most of their knives. It is also very difficult to read the letters in real life, so it just looks like a brass oval.
Tony Bose hit a grand slam in designing this pattern for Case. The action on my knife is good and has gotten better with use.

The as ground blades are also pretty cool on the Carhartts.
