Which chopper?

This is some good info. In terms of value I'd look to the Ranger RD-9 and DFLE, but you can't go wrong with any of these.

As a side note, where can you find any of these knives online? Any good places that offer different finishes?

That's another point.

I think the RD is way easier to get than a Dogfather. Way easier to get different options on it too.

The only one that I own is the Outcast- chops 1" rope cleanly, is light and agile, and works great as a drawknife. Bought one for my birthday and it has a place on my survival kit hipsack.

Here it is after stripping some cedar:

My vote would be for a swamprat ratweiler chopper. There are still some in the store. I have truly been amazed by mine.
