Well, for feeling "dorky": No. For getting stares, I get that anyway, walking around in my Utilikilt.
Same here. With the Fatboy and the new Survival Kilt, I'm never out of pockets. In fact I have too many.

I have three: Black, Woodland Camo, and Navy. I use my Black one the most.

Hey Ed, I knew I would find some Utilikilt wearers on here. Although I must admit I am far more comfortable with the uk then I am carrying the fatboy. Its not that I am concerned about people thinking it looks gay its that it seems to attract a lot of attention. Everytime I carry it I get lots of comments. Honestly most of them are positive though lots of jokes about the man-purse. I just don't like everyone paying attention to what I am carrying around.

I love the bag, the pocket with zipper on the side fits my Motarola bda like it was built for it, my multiplier balances it on the other side. Great size and quality, I think the back pouch is basically a lousy place to keep any sort of a weapon unless you actually attach a sheath or holster inside it, has anyone done this?

well thought it was gonna be a backpack substitute but naw, can anyone recommend a good small backpack for daily use?

Sam (oh yeah mine is od, wish they came in grey or navy or forest, tactical colors look tactical, shoulda bought khaki;-)>

I've got an OD Thermite. It is kinda small as others have pointed out but I doubt I would carry a larger bag anyway. I don't carry it that much but I should do so more. To me the green is the best color for hiding dirt period. Black shows dust like crazy and I am often in dusty environments.

I like the Fatboy, and the idea of carrying one with all of your stuff in it sounds appealing, but I have to ask. Don't you feel kind of 'dorky' carying one? Do you get odd stares from people? I'm not one to really care what others think, but I'm just not too sure.
This is why I carry my stuff in an unobtrusive black leather attache. It fits in, in an office environment. And it holds a LOT of stuff. I am looking for a slightly bigger one, mostly because when I read a big hardcover, I stick it in there, and sometimes it's hard to close it! Mine's a toolkit and I have an overstuffed first aid bag in there. I want one I can actually carry a laptop in, so I'm not carrying 2 bags when I need the laptop.
edit
I just purchased a Filson F257 extra-large briefcase. I love it. Very sturdy. A lot bigger than a Fatboy though. Maybe I ought to get a Fatboy to put IN this with all the stuff I usually clip to my belt... hmmmm :)

It was a toss-up between black and OD.

The OD won because it looks more "tactical" and less like a purse.

I don't "color co-ordinate" either, so I don't care whether it matches my clothes or not.

Everyone to their own taste, though, why shouldn't you choose a color you like regardless of what others think?

I draw the line at pink. :)

Ok here's my two cents about fatboys.

I perfer black because it's less military than OD. Khaki is okay but it doesnt match great with some clothing and it shows dirt easier than black.

I like fatboys because they carry around "just in case" gear discreetly and comfortably easy to access unlike a over the shoulder briefcase which moves around and to get to the gear you'd have to open a flap or such in an SHTF or emegency.

I could only see myself using one during a day trip or festival. Mainly because I don't need that much stuff on a daily basis.

But I would definatly want black, the best non-color of them all. :D

Black blends right in with my black jacket(s).
I carried a GI buttpack with a shoulder strap for years.
While the pockets are way better on the Fatboy, I really miss those 2 lashing straps on the bottom of the GI bag.
Messenger bags were all the rage, so the fatboy is hardly noticed here.

BTW: How do you put that drawstring keeper back together?
