I thought this would be an interesting poll. If your car is paid off, just go off of what the payments were before you paid it off.

I'm confused. You're asking if our most valuable knife is more expensive than one car payment?

This is different.

My car is paid off, but as my average knife purchase is about $550, my highest being close to 2k that
far exceeds any car payment that I have ever had.

Car payment, for the last two vehicles anyway. I think that has been a sort of subconscious limit for my knife purchases.

My wife's MB E350 sport is in the low $500 range.... Which I use that as justification for any knife I want to buy.

I*think comparing the knife to rent or mortgage would make more sense.

We own both our vehicles. Payed cash for them.
But I payed only 300$ more for my jeep than my one and only EDC. You can say my wife has the really nice car. Or I just got a hell of a deal.

Not only is my most expensive knife more than 1 car payment, but with all the money I've spent on knives, I could have bought a car. :(

While I don't have any car payments now, I have never had one anywhere near what I have paid for knives.

Of the cars I've had, I've always bought them outright. So, my "car payment" is waaaaay more than I've spent on any individual knife. ;)

It used to be the knife was more expensive, but im making a point to change that in hopes of a 2015 Mustang GT :)

This may be true, but that car would probably wear out long before your knives do. See? I could justify spending money on knives all day long...
