It's close, but my most recent monthly vehicle payment was higher than my most expensive knife. But unlike my knives, I use my vehicle. ;)

This may be true, but that car would probably wear out long before your knives do. See? I could justify spending money on knives all day long...

I made a mistake and bought a Dodge once. Forget pocketknives, a block of ice would have lasted longer. :(

If it was a Neon, I can relate and I feel your pain.

Thanks, I feel better. I think I'll buy a new knife. :D

My nicest knife dies, but that's because I don't make payments on anything, I save up and pay in full.

my nicest knife (which is currently a spyderco uk pen knife or my Jürgen Schanz kiridashi, both were about 70€), because i simply bought all my cars so far. i'd rather not have monthly payments for my car than some ultra rare collctors knife i will never use.

My car was free

Straya!

I also prefer the mortgage payment or monthly rent reference better.

Of course my nicest knife cost more than my mortgage payment... and car payment. Combined.

This is the perfect example why I got out of the game of high end custom knives, in comparison to guns, bikes , cars and other things we actually do need in life collecting knives that sit there is by far more expensive than anything else, don't get me wrong, I do like knives but I find myself less and less interested in paying 2k for a folder that to me is worth 700$ Or just sits there.

That is why we are call knifenuts lol lol lol.

Its within less than $10, but my car payment is slightly higher than the cost of a Small Seb.

Haven't bought a car since 1996. Model: 4-Runner // 1986.

Runs like a champ. Why would I buy a new car? I'd rather fix the one I have.

I have not owned a car (by choice) in over 20 years. My last new bicycle (2003 Giant Cypress DX) cost more than any of my knives, though ... I think ... I hope ... I was recently gifted a couple vintage Case knives. I hope they are not worth more than that bike cost.

Come to think of it, the Giant cost more than all the knives I bought in the last 8 years - combined.

Paid cash for my current car. Paid of the previous car in two years.

If im paying over $500 for something, it better require fuel or require ammunition! And im sure $500 on a knife is chump change to some of you... :p

I'm financially independent, and I couldn't agree more. The minute a knife exceeds a used Glock19 - I'm out. I do admire knives that cost more than I'm willing to spend.

Car payment is more than any knife I have bought, but some of my early custom Japanese kitchen knives are now worth more than my car payment
for example one of my Hattori KD Gyuto, since he can no longer make these.
