Awesome trio!! šŸ‘
But your pup takes the cake šŸ˜

Did a scale swap on the DEK1. It has been about 1.5yrs or so since I've had the scales off, this knife was mostly carried during that time. I work in a shop that isn't climate controlled and the summers can get a little swampy šŸ˜‚ anyhow I'm impressed, light stains that a little flitz would take right if it I cared to do so.

And since I can't decide what knife to bring to work I said you only YOLO once

I put a little Vaseline under the scales and then you won't ever see that tiny staining pop up.

Froglube here.
Mother’s CMX Ceramic auto coating, for me.

It’s like Frank’s Red Hot; ā€œI put that shit on everythingā€
šŸ˜‚

First tried it on the daily driver. Applied 3 coats, then didn’t reapply to see how long it would last. Lasted about 2 years, during which anytime we got decent rain, the car looked like it had been through a car wash. Dirt, bug splatter… all gone and the car was back to shiny. It also lasted longer on the side windows, than Rain-X (I alternately applied Rain-X to the front passenger and rear driver side windows, and CMX on the other two, to compare).

Then I figured I’d try applying it to the snow shovel (anyone who’s used a snow shovel for 30+ minutes, had noted that after a bit, snow begins sticking to the shovel, at which point, you’re wasting energy either trying to knock the snow off, or from the shovel progressively getting heavier). Yup. Just as water beads and doesn’t stick to the coating on the car, it made the shovel blade slick enough, that the snow stopped sticking, too. So I applied it to the snowblower as well.

Then I thought back to a trick I first began using in college, where I applied Rain-X on the glass shower doors, so water beaded off and they stayed clean easier. It worked well enough, that I applied it to the shower walls, too. The CMX works just as well, or better. Just a quick rinse of the walls and doors with the removable shower head, to wash any soap/shampoo residue off, and it stays clean far easier, and doesn’t build soap/scale.

Applied it to the drip tray under the dish rack. Yup. That stays cleaner, too. Applied it to the bathroom sink, exterior of the toilet bowl and tank…

ā€œDid you do something to the bathroom? Water beads, and just runs off everythingā€. 😁

*** did NOT apply it to the kitchen sink. I figure the metal and porcelain that goes into the kitchen sink would scratch the coating, and I don’t want it in contact with eating utensils etc. The bathroom sink OTOH, doesn’t have that concern.

***under the scales off a CPK, that coating is pretty much there forever.

DEK1 fits like it was made for the side pocket on Carhartt overallsView attachment 2782793View attachment 2782794
Have to ask, do you wash them and put into the dryer or do you wash and hang dry? When I was working, I’d buy 8 pairs a year direct from Carhart. A pair for each day of the week and one for those special occasions, I’m kind of surprised that my wife would allow it but felt more comfortable going outšŸ˜‰
