Haagen-Dazs is American ice cream, it's just a completely made up name that's meant to sound Danish for marketing purposes. Personally, the best ice cream I ever had was gelato at Il Gelateria di San Crispino in Rome, but American style is great if you don't want to buy a plane ticket.
I've been all over the world and tried ... forget Gelato, Haagen-Dazs, green tea ice-cream, etc. American ice cream is the best in the world. As kids, I remember when we were able to score ice cream from one of the close by PX stores ... we were in heaven.
