Which CRK Folder First? (Seb 21 vs 25 vs Umnumzaan)

1st CRK a Micarta 25!!!! That's some wow factor. Might as well go all in as they say. I highly doubt you'll do anything but drool for the 1st couple hours. I am more of a 21 guy myself, which is a subtler knife, but you simply cannot beat a 25 for unboxing. Those curves!

I've always wanted a US made folder with micarta. :D

The horror!!!!

Thanks for the picture.

The tracking was all sorts of messed up, and it actually just arrived. Wow, pictures don't do these justice. Love the design, love the materials, it's everything I thought it would be. I can't believe the blade to handle ratio, what an efficient design. Lockup, centering, grinds, bevels, everything is perfect. The blade looks thick, but the knife is very light and small in the pocket. I really like the feel of the micarta inlays. I couldn't be happier.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice and encouragement! Now to figure out what to sell to get a micarta inlaid 21....

Micarta large 21 was my first.
I've had many after it.

Guess what's in my rfpocket.

My large 21 micarta. :)

When u get off work. Large Damascus cgg.

Great decision man.

Nice job! I was hoping you sprung for the Micarta 25. You made a fine decision!

I feel as well that pictures simply do not do it justice either. I have to admit I was panning it when it came out. It looked terrible in the photos on CRK's website.

But when I walked into my local B&M knife store (still an hour away) and saw it in person, it was like the clouds parted and Angels began to sing. The sun actually was shining on it through the window in a magnificent way, and it was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I can still picture it in my mind. I should have taken a picture of it, but I could not wait to get my hands on it.

It had been sitting there for 3 months after being picked up at Blade 2104. It was patiently waiting on me to arrive, I finally did, and it will never leave my possession unless someone breaks in while I am gone. Maybe I should hide it. :)

Sounds like you have somewhat a similar experience, MatthewSB. The waiting is over, and wasn't it worth it now?

Welcome to the family!

Too close to call having just got a large 21 I have no desire for a 25 or a small, I an hankering for a mnandi though!

I just recently went through the same decision process! Subsequently, I have been lurking the forum and finally signed up as well (this is my first post :)) I ended up getting the small cf seb. Haven't gotten it yet but I'm damn excited!

Congratulations to both of you. We all remember our first CRK...and I think most of us still have it.

Of those that do not, many later regret having sold it. That tells you something.

I recently thought about selling my first one (a plain 25) after getting a micarta 25 and keeping both for some time now. I'm outfitting a new compound bow and the $$ is WAY more ($2100) than I thought. I could sell three of them and pay a lot of it off, 2 'Zaans and the plain 25.

But then I remembered others who sold their first, and regretted it. So I've decided to keep them, especially my first 25, because someday I might regret having sold it and the others as well.

So again Congrats, and post pics when you can, we all like living feelings of CRK Happiness around here!

My first was a 25, then a 21 small with inlays. Sold them, now i want another. Don't sell it in less you really need to. The 25 was the only knife to this day that i could loosen the pivot and there was no blade play. That tells you how awesome the tolerances are with crk. Enjoy the hunt, and when you get it, enjoy the knife.
