Which CRK is the one that got you hooked?

This one and then a mountaineer 1

The one that started it for me back in June 2010. A small Classic MM with blood wood inlays.

I had little interest in CRKs until the Insingos. The Small Insingo was my first and continues to be my favorite knife :D

The Insingo got me hooked

+1. I got a normal Large 21 first and fell in love with CRK but getting my Insingo has made me thirst for even more Reeve greatness. I can see empty savings accounts and full knife drawers in my future.

Small plain regular in 2002. Tried one, didn't like it, sold it, went back to carrying BM Axis locks, and tried another a few months later, having remembered the fit, finish, and elegance of the first one I'd owned. Been toting small regs in different variations since and have never looked back.

Tried the one piece range several times over the years, but always found the heft and ergos of the round handles to be not to my preference, but others' mileage has varied greatly, in that there is a lot of love for them out there. Always have had the newer generation CRK fixed blades on my mind, however (GB's, Nyala, etc.).

For me it was a large Sebenza MM classic with Cocobolo wood inlays about three years ago. It went into my pocket as soon as I got it out of the box and has been there ever since. I love it. Now I have a small CG "seagrass" as a second EDC and about 15 other safe queens.

I am an incurable fan of the Sebenza (at least the ones without IM on them :))

It is funny that you just scored an LDC-09, as that is the knife that first got me hooked as a collector. I bought #20 on eBay, and when I contacted Les Robertson to find out where the 109 #20 had gone he informed me that it was still in stock. Since then the number 20 has been my CRK collector number, I have both the Classics, Insingos, and the first Mnandi run with #20 on them.

I started in 2008 with an order for a small blackwood double lug Classic MM from CRK, while waiting for it to be built I picked up a Lg. Classic MM Micarta which I really liked. I never got fully hooked though. I would buy one then sell it latter to try something else. I went through a few, but wasn't totally satisfied(personal problem not CRK).I moved on to try some other makers. Just recently I started thinking about that Lg Micarta I had and what I wanted from a knife in general and decided to try the small micarta 21. I think I have finally found my Sebenza. I love the size and feel of this knife. Time will tell, but I think I am probably hooked.

I was shocked and pleased to see it offered for sale.

Sweet Mnandi goodness there!

I have my first Micarta in route, but I'm already hooked. Is there such a thing as rehooked/double hooked? :D

Oops...but the way I look at it, money loses value, CRKs usually maintain and sometimes gain value....at least that's how I justify my purchases.

i blindly bought a large 21 after reading about how much everyone talked so good about CRK knives. i did have a bit of buyer's remorse, but as time went on, i grew to really admire how much of a well built knife the sebenza is.

i was ordering an umnumzaan, but my wife caught me :(
