I voted Basketweave but it really depends on the specific pattern. There are some really nice ladder patterns out there though. My personal favorites are Zebra, Snakeskin and Bubble Wrap.

Oh my... oh my... those Mnandi's are beautiful! I have yet to own one and have been delaying for quite awhile now.

If I could only just find a Mammoth Bark Mnandi like the one on the top most... I'd probably have solved my own dilemma...

My most unique damascus. It's Gary House Mosaic Damascus

This guy comes in and shows me this... Now, this poll is totally worthless to me... I want a Gary House Mosaic Damascus this instant. :D

Seriously though Thomas, that is one of the most beautiful piece of Damascus ever...

They only made 12..... lol. I have one and I think Lisa has one also. Not sure though. So that leaves 10 in the wild....

Should I suggest blue spiro? ;) :D

I think they might do the swap, but am not sure.

Called in a few minutes ago. They can't do blade swaps.. Looks like I will have to wait for 12 months then.. Will probably make up my mind on which one when the Poll ends on Sunday... :)

I would keep your blade in it. IMHO it looks awesome and better than a Damascus.

* I know I just upset 2/3 of you :o

I am not ignorant to values... But if you put a s35vn and a any Damascus there for me to choose, I choose the plain every time based on appearance to my eye. Apparently, I am an blind ignoramus

Basketweave hands down, though that is my strong personal preference. I was tempted by a Spirograph as of late, but my standing order with CRK for a similar Basketweave knife restrained me from such, even already owning a plain jane 21 large basketweave. The pattern is impressive, and I have a unique reason/story to enjoy it so much, so I hope to amass at least a few of these while it is available.

The s30v blade is not going anywhere.. So, in actuality, I have a back-up s30v when I get tired of the Damascus.. [emoji16]

Difficult choice. All 3 currently available damascus pattern are attractive. Each pattern can appear a little different, which can make a huge difference. A few examples:

This raindrop looks particularely fantastic:

21, Mammoth Bark Ivory, Raindrop, 07

21, Mammoth Bark Ivory, Raindrop, 08

This raindrop is a little different:

21, Mammoth Ivory, Raindrop, 05

Both are nice and individual. But if I would have a choice, I would prefer the 1st one on the bark.

21, Mammoth Ivory, Raindrop, 15

Same for ladder. This one is what I would regard as a "standard" ladder:

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Ladder, 05

This one is more unique, because of its "dynamic flow" of the pattern, if you know what I mean:

Mnandi, Mammoth Ivory, Ladder, 05

What I have observed is that basket weave has the least variations. If ordering a complete knife from a shop which pictures the actual knives for sale, it doesn't bring any advantage, because you always see what you get. But if you are considering having CR to put a new damascus blade on your knife and most likely they will not send you pictures of different damascus pattern, asking you to choose (if they would that would be great), then basket weave is maybe the one with less "risk" for a less attractive pattern (my god. longest sentence ever. 7:30 in the morning.).

Some basket weave examples for you, my friend:

Mnandi, Elder Burl, Basket Weave, 05

Mnandi, Elder Burl, Basket Weave, 07

Mnandi, Gabon Ebony, Basket Weave, 06

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Basket Weave 2, 03

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Basket Weave 2, 04

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Basket Weave, 03

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Basket Weave, 04

Mnandi, Mammoth Bark, Basket Weave, 09

Sebenza:

21, Carbon Fiber, Basket Weave, 06

21, CF Inlays, Basket Weave, 03

21, Plain, Basket Weave, 02

21, Plain, Basket Weave, 03

21, Plain, Basket Weave, 12

UG, Blue Sapphier, Basket Weave, 05

UG, Blue Sapphier, Basket Weave, 14

Happy choosing :D
