I didn't abandon this thread. Appreciate the inputs from other than BM fans so I left it open. If that was a problem Ill shut it down. AS a side note I'm 77 and have butchered many deer, hogs etc and cleaned many fish. I make my own fixed blades but sometimes I don't have one handy and always have my current EDC BM freek with me. Was looking for inputs on other options is all.
 
Of the ones you mentioned I would go with the some version of the Grip.
My personal suggestion would be to get one of the BM Crooked River knives. Mini CR in particular.
For a small fixed blade I would suggest the White River Backpacker Pro.
