I understand there are alot of these threads so I apologize in advance, but none of them seemed to address all my questions.
I want a large and strong folding knife made with goo quality and an easy opening system. I will list a few I am considering.
Microtech Socom Elite, ZT 801, Emerson Super CQC 8, Benchmade Contego.
The Contego would be perfect, but I have heard the ergonomics are terrible.
*edit* I know a common answer here is the Gayle Bradley, it looks like a nice enough knife but it also looks like it has no guard of any sort...I like some sort of finger stop.

Will you be using the knife for anything specific or just looking for a new big folder?

Rope, Cloth, Cardboard, Zip ties, and self defense. Maybe some other stuff, but who knows.

Spyderco Military! (Or Para 2)

Or the GB is worth a second look, I've used mine pretty hard without fear of my hand sliding forward.

Emerson makes nice knives that would fit your need, but is there a reason you are looking at the 8? It is a very large and heavy knife that I personally wouldn't want to carry daily. The 7 is smaller but would still fit your needs from what you describe.
I would also, as mentioned above, look at the spyderco PM2. Also consider the benchmade grip or the Osborn.

Another vote for contego, the only people that complain about its ergos are woman. Some say the milling on the g10 is to rough haha, maybe they just need MAN HANDS!!

Please send me an email. I have an idea of a good knife and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Great knife; great rep; low price. AND...I have no dog in this race.
or: second choice: BenchMade 710 with D2 steel. Inexpensive, but a classic.
or: third choice: Spyderco Paramilitary 2 with s30v steel. Similar to #2.

Of the knives you listed I would choose the Socom Elite. It's one of my top folders of all time. Great in the hand and not too big in the pocket. There is also the Socom Delta.

Contego, ZT 0560, BM 710, PM2. Those would be my votes and in that order.

The contego does have a ruff handle with lots of jimping but I wouldn't say the ergos are bad. Some people don't like it while others, like me, love how it locks into your hand.

Contego in M390 is sweet. A ton of knife for the money and made in USA. Locks in to your grip crazy good and feels awesome. Do it! :)

Hogue EX-O1 "4 is the only pattern from that maker I've tried but the f&f is excellent, it's huge, made in USA, is a few bucks less than the Benchmade. Fits hand like a glove and is smoooove. Smoove as Smoove B. ;)

I 2nd jazub about the Contego in M390 steelwith the blue/ black handle scale, and it looks awesome, in the pics that is. But I am sure it will in real life.

I would say the Hogue EX-02, a production version of Elishewetz's new models, the "Tank". It is a linerlock, with thick (.080") liner's, and a blade to match at .150" thick. The blade is 3.75" and it comes in a thumbstud model,or as a flipper. I had one of each and gave them away as "pay it forward". Plus they are rather flat so they make a good knife inpocket since they are comfortable and don't really print. Either were sweet knives!:)

My vote is for the zt 0300 series. Titanium frame lock s30v steel assisted opening. Seems like it would suit your needs.

Mr. Lineman...just wondering if you are approaching a decision...there's a ton of good suggestions in the above posts.
Good luck and I hope you get one that works well for you.

Spyderco Millie. Large, light, tough . Never been labeled the "T Word".:D
