Which folder?

Tougher and better don't always mean the same thing.

Better is of course quite relative. As a 'slicer', the SG2 JYDII is second to none. However, for camp or woods use, the thin blade on the SG2 will be subject to dents and warping. Such has already been discovered by JYDII SG2 owners, myself included.

Hmm so far I'm liking the Recon 1, Rat 1, and the American Lawman. Dunno why but i'm not tooo into the Spyderco knives. Might be the huge hole they put in em. Does anyone know which knives can hold a good convex? I realllyy like convex edges. Soo a little thicker blade? Sorry for asking so much ^.^''

True, but for "general use" I'd guess that the JYD2 is superior, simply because there're more times you need/appreciate a "slicer" than you do a "tank".-this is in my experience, which usually excludes hard use. -@APF.

Convex can be put on anything. I think the knives you talk about will be just fine with it. If you plan to buy a knife already convexed, though, I think you'll have to go for the Fallkniven folders-the U2 is right within your price range and a pretty little slicer. No one-handed opening is the downside.

Do try to handle the knives before you buy. A lot of times how much you like and carry it is determined by weight and ergonomics. I, for one, am glad I got to handle a Spyderco Native-handle just didn't feel right-and a BM Rift, for the same reason. Both excellent knives by specs alone.
