My UKPK was perfect in every other way, but I just can't accept how little of the tip is covered by the handle. It was one of the coolest knives I've ever bought, but I just could not accept that one little detail. ALSO the Native does not sit deep enough for me... I REALLY like the knife though, so it is a keeper... he tip of these two knives is ajust a little over 1/16" into the handle.

The Military, on the other hand is designed to perfection.. the blade sits DEEP in the handle... There's over a 1/2" of the tip nestled deep in there! While this may just be a ridiculous pet peeve of mine... to each their own, I reckon... that's why these products are so diverse!!

What other Spydies tuck the tip into the handle... at least, more than the UKPK and the Native?? The new "Anso" looks amazing in this respect!

The ATR seems to have it's tip nestled down pretty far.
I remember having a knife once that you could cut yourself on closed, because it's tip stuck up so far! Can't recall what it was offhand and I'm pretty sure it's been sold or traded away. It wasn't something I cared for at all.

What's up Archman! Good to see ya.

I had the same issue with my UKPK in foliage green. The tip was just almost out of the handle. Barely covered.

I ended up getting rid of the knife after a while.

I have some Centofante 3's and 4's that sit nice and deep in the handle. Also the Paramilitary blade sits deep in the handle just like the Paramilitary does. My old Delica 3 sits deep in the handle too...not deep like the Millie but deep enough. Also my Native III sits deeper in the handle than the Native from Golden. The Harpy, Manix, and A.T.R. also sit nice and deep in the handle.

I'm pretty sure you're against buying non-USA made knives though. That's actually a good idea in this current economy. I try to buy USA made Spydies if I can rather than Seki-City Japan made knives. However, the Seki made knives are really high quality.
