Hi all, just want to know what's the best grade Arkansas stone to use on my Skyline EDC, something to keep it sharp before I strop it, look forward to your replies. Kris

I mostly go to the Washita but I don't sharpen mine very fine. After stropping the edge it will be close to 500 grit. DM

The nice thing about the Skyline (I edc one too) is the Sandvik steel. I have a 14C28N version, older ones were 13C26N, both of these steels were developed specifically for razor blades, and can take an ultra fine edge. I maintain shaving sharp at all times, but I usually take it to hair whittling sharp right from the stones with no stropping.

For a final stone, I would suggest a "true hard" grade stone (extra fine), a slow hard stone that can really refine the edge without building a burr. I use a found stone (see "Major goal accomplished" thread for more info) on mine which if I build a self slurry on polishes it finer than CrO2 on a balsa strop can do.
