Which Grit for Slack Belt?

I know what you mean, I tried looking for some real fine micron, micromesh that heard 3-M was making, and after extensive searching on thier site I found out that they indeed were making it, but had no links to potential sources.:( Im still looking for the best place to buy bulk high grit sandpaper (50 sheet packages 1000-2500 grit), I used to get em from some auto-supply retailers, but since then thier sites have bellied up. If I hear of anything more local, Ill let you know. There are tons of industrial supplies around the metro, that for some reason dont advertise very well, but are great sources for variety of stuffs. There has to be a good abrassive supply somewhere.

Federico try here
Wholesale Tool has a large store here and in other major cities that stocks all sorts of items for the machine shop trade.

Sorry about that. I will have to check my catalog to get the correct address.
FIXED!!!!

But I am mistaken that they had the superfine papers.:(
The trick is in buying in bulk is to go where the shops get their materials. Call around to a few auto body shops and see if they will tell you where they get theirs.

Thanks for the links Yvsa, used to get my bulk sandpaper from a place called English Color Supply, but now thier on-line catalog is no more.:( Ive always prefered buying by the 50 sheet pack, versus the 5 sheet packs that the hardware store has. Especially with how fast the real high grit papers load, it just dont make sense to buy 5 sheets at a time. Just wish I could find a local bulk supplier. Itd be nice not to pay shipping.

Fredrico:

My belts from Supergrit came yesterday - pretty fast shipping. They also sent along a catalog and apparently they have alot more stuff for sale than is listed on their website. If you want high-grit sandpaper up to #2500 they have all kinds, and the more you buy the cheaper it is.
