Which Hinderer finish do you prefer?

I'm mulling over an XM-18 purchase, but can't decide which finish to go with between stonewash and full working finish.

For Hinderer owners who have or had both, which finish do you prefer?

In a handle, working finish, for the blade, stonewashed. :)

Can I make a suggestion of battle anthracite DLC? Similar in color to working finish, but smoother feeling like the stonewashed, and it is DLC so it should hold up nicely. (Am I a jerk for trying to add another option to your conundrum?)

And to actually answer, probably stonewashed over working finish, though it is pretty close.

I own both. I think I prefer the stonewash, but there is something that really sticks out with the working finish. The working finish has a look all to itself and makes a great looking knife.

I'd suggest if you own one XM 18, make it stonewash. If you buy two, make the second a working finish, or vice versa.

You can't go wrong with either one mind you, pick the one the you like best.

Looks like stonewash is the preferred so far. Is this due to the visual appeal of the stonewash or does it impact performance (grip, comfort, cutting) in some way?

I like the look of the working finish, but I bet the stonewash looks better for the long haul.

Stonewash or working finished, as far as performance goes, are exactly the same. It just a matter of visual appeal.

I like the working finish, just personal preference. No impact at all on performance.
I also like the black finish mentioned above.

Stonewash and working finish are my two favorite offerings from Hinderer. Based on my experience, the slightly rougher, blasted finish on the WF lends itself to slightly more sluggish flipping action as compared to the SW. The other issue I've had with the WF knives is that, due to the rougher finish, they can take on rust easily where as the SW finish definitely will not. I've always been able to remove rust spost using Flitz on my WF Hinderers, but it is something to watch for.

I like Working Finish and Stonewashed about the same. Typically Working Finish has a longer break in period but it also seems that once it is broken in, it is smoother. I don't know why but that has been the case for all the ones I have owned.

I like the look of both ... I like the handles best in Working finish ... and would only lean towards the stonewashed blades because they don't show use as much ... but nothing wrong with a blade that shows it's well used either ... so win win.
