Which Hunting knife?

I'm very happy with the Benchmade Hunt series.
Yep. I have a Benchmade 15010 and I love it. It has gutted and skinned more than a few blacktail bucks and wild pig. This knife was a collaboration between Michael Waddell (the Bone Collector guy) and Benchmade. Sadly, it is no longer being produced and they are pretty hard to find nowdays. I think Benchmade's new Hunt line has something similar though.

These are photos from when I first bought it. D2 steel, nice wood handle, and the sheath is actually pretty good quality too. Glad I bought it before they stopped making them.

I use all sorts of different knives. For a Whitetail you don't need much more than a 3-4" fixed blade. Shop your price point. You'll figure out what works for you and what doesn't. The Buck Lite Max or whatever it's called with a hollow grind and an awesome heat treat would work great for $20.

Couple of my field knives, Busse Groove master, Bark River games keeper, and buck vanguard. I have separate set for butchering lighter, flexible blades.
