Which INFI for user?

padwan, listen to what you are about to hear. it is all that you will need.

SS4.

SS4 relative to some other short EDC blades.

If you want INFI there have been some miliganza AD's, sage/black and muddy/tan, for near $200 on exchange.

Best INFI bang for your buck IMO

SS4 of the choices listed and your available budget.

the GW is better for carving still though...

Really? I can't honestly say I've carved with either one of my GW or AD - slicing only.

"Carving" makes me think of what my G'pa did, which I have wonderful memories of his teaching me. My memory is that a blade like the AD, with more point, would greatly excel over a GW, with its more extreme skinner-type belly. That said, I may be wrong.

What are you "carving" and what has been your experience specifically?

Man, that brings back some memories. My Father and Uncles carved all the time. I can still remember my father giving my older brother a piece of soap to practice on. I was about 7 and couldn't figure out why my brother carved a naked women. Good times I havn't thought about in a while:thumbup:

I find the meaner to be an incredibly comfortable and versatile blade. Comfortable handle and a 4 inch blade. Thin enough to be a slicer. Might have to go over $250 but worth the money
Happy Hunting

Just pulled the trigger on a meaner with black coat and red g10 scales. I sure hope this expensive bastard is everything I've built it up to be! lol

thanks for cajoling me into spending even more money

INFIcoot all the way! I had an SS4 and didn't like the handle at all. Just didn't work for me. Now the 'coot on the other hand, feels like an extension of my hand. Just the perfect size to lock into my grip. I do have smallish hands though. If you have large hands the SS4 may fit you better, but I still say the INFIcoot blows it away. And INFIcoots are just feaking cool.

Can't go wrong with a meaner:thumbup:

NICE score!! I LOVE the red scales on that thing...

Well the carving stuff i said was just IMHO. i dont find it confortable to carve (on a stick are something wood. my dad always makes walkig sticks and i just started carving 6 or so months ago) it might be because i filed down some parts on my GW so its better to hold. plus the designs on the AD, the waves that protrued out to a point arn't very conforable.

The point on the AD might help on carving. but the GW's point is just fine. again this is just IMHO.

you made a good choice. Only thing the meaner won't do is chop down trees.
