Which is best large sypderco

Well, somebody has to say it. :D You should check out the large Wegner also. Great ergonomics, great cutter, solid as all get out and a crime that it is discontinued. Of your two stated choices I would go with the Military, but the Wegner deserves consideration too.

One of my ATS34 Carbon Fibre Buck Knives has gove completely dull.:( I lent it to a friend adn he tried to sharpen it with a stone. He didnt use an angle at all.:( I am getting my Sharpmaker along with my New Delica soon. I will try and re-profile it with that. If it cant then i will buy a extra course stone and put it against the sharpmaker for the same angle.:rolleyes:
 
musky hunter, I don't believe that ATS-34 is as hard to sharpen, when dull, as the CPM440V so you might be able to reprofile the edge with the 204 with little trouble. Although if it is really dull, it would be to your advantage to get the diamond triangles for the 204 as well. I still haven't gotten around to getting the diamonds :o, but I'm in no rush since I have a DMT (coarse) that can reprofile an edge for now.
 
been using my millie since late august, haven't let it get dull yet.

I've been stropping the edge on the 303MF case after a day of use, and using the Fine once in a while. Still shaves.
 
I am looking at the Carbon Fiber Police and g10 Military now. The price are around $20 apart. Still thinking.......
 
Damn, just found out NGK sells a g10 Police also.

Now i got 3 choices....

CF Police vg10
G10 Police vg10
G10 Military vg10

Just received my delica and sharpmaker. I am very impressed with the delica. Cut myself closing blade with single hand. Dumbass move...lol

I now going to buy a large spyderco for sure.
 
hell, should have seen my first spyder bite... a week into owning the delica, was trying the one hand close...

it found my little finger, and chomped in just behind the nail bed... bled for a while. not the last time I've done that one...

As to the steel change, it is the 03 line. few suggestions I have for getting one with the 30V...

1> order direct from SFO, and request the 03 version with S30V steel.
2> talk to your supplier about getting the version you want(I use Linda, and she has no problems)
3> wait till about April and see if your local shop has the new supply yet. This all depends on how many the place sells

[I waited for the VG-10 PE Merlin for 9months after it was announced in 02, and ended up getting the ATS-55 from Linda in August... I just gave it away on the home forum a few weeks ago]
 
I will try and contact Linda on some accessories and the Military or CF Police. One thing i noticed about spyderco is that there blades are so thin, it kind of makes me feel like they are going to break. I wil see how the blade holds up. I really like the sharpmaker. I used a Gatco Course diamond stone along side the sharpmaker at the 30 degree angle and it re-profiled the angle easily. I am going to order the ultra fine sticks so i can get my blades to razor sharp.
 
Is the CF Police flat ground like the G-10 model, or hollow ground like the SS Police model?
 
the only stories I have heard of spydies breaking are the vielle model.

The blade is left rather thin around the hole, with it taking up approx 1/2 the belly... heard stories 2x about them snapping while cutting something hard(one was cutting cheese).
