Which is better and what's the difference? Frank B. or AKC?

Darnnit tom19176, 1st thing I see I want!! :D

Heres a Great Looking Frank B 11" With Whitheish and Blond Horn Great Snap Locks Up rock Solid and Straight and When closed the SS Bayo Blade seats dead Centered when Closed ,Has a Swivel Bolster and a SS Bayonet Blade Stamped Frank B Italy ,Also Has SS Bolsters and Polished brass Liners ,Very Nice Horn on both Sides

Odds are at the price range stated, the Frank B. is probably the best bet. If you check around you will see some 11s about that price.
Frank B's are generally of a little better quality than the AKCs in the basic stilleto. The AKC Leverletto, however, is pretty decent.
I have one 11 Frank B, and its slightly dissappointing, bit of curve to the back spine (which I understand is pretty common in the 11), and its opening is not 100% reliable.
The 9" Franks B's on the other hand seem to be generally decently made. The couple I have are reliable and f&f is good.
Be aware all Frank Bs are not the same. He does make some higher grade ones. At one time (maybe still) was making the Walts Flat Guards at Latama.net. Walts are outstanding quality, and priced accordingly.

I have a couple of FB's not swing guards, 9" picklocks with real stag scales. I have pretty big hands and the 9's feel small. The 11" was going to be my next (if ever) purchase. Why do you want that pearlex stuff? I'd consider horn or at the least a nice hardwood IMHO.

I also have 2 AKC leverlocks, a hair under 9" OAL and I really dig them - I love the gadgetry of a leverlock.

Whoever posted about swing guard issues is apparently right from the gazillion posts I've seen at auctions where they all mention "a bit of play which is normal."

My wife will snap "will you please put those darn things away" occasionally after sitting in my chair and OCD'ing snap snap snap snap............ :D

I like both brands. Enjoy your new stiletto and post a pic when you get it.

I want the pearlex because it looks good, and its in my price range. ($80-$100) I might get another type though, like the Dark Horn, or the Light Rose Wood.

You must not have spent much time where tom19176 directed you to. Check it out, you'll find what you really want there :)

There are lots of horn and stag for well under $100.....Nothing wrong with pearlx, but the horn and stag can't be beat!

Anyone know who runs SharperDeals.net? I want to bid on a knife, but they won't approve my registration

Nevermind, I guess I had an old account. For those of you who use that site, what is a "swap offer"?

For those of you who use that site, what is a "swap offer"?

A swap offer is used when a person is offering a trade offer to a
seller. A cash offer can also be made. If the seller accepts the
offer, the auction ends immediately and buyer is notified by automated
email that their offer was accepted.

An interested person can offer knife/knives in trade or cash offer for
what a seller has listed ( and if the seller has enabled swap offers
option ). Not sure if I may have made it sound confusing in my last
email.

That's from Sharper Deals Admin

Picked up a couple of 11" WFGs at the Blade show from Walt at Latama.net
Oustanding quality and Walt is a pleasure to do business with, a real gentleman.
Slightly higher price, but I think they are worth it.

The Leverletto's and Frank B.'s are things of beauty. Legality where I am is unclear, so guess I'll save my pennies and won't be contributing to the economic stimulus. Ah well...
