which is denser 6061-T6 Aluminum or Ebony wood (Grade aa or aaa)?

I'm thinking of replacing scales on a knife with ebony or carbon fiber,
and don't want to make it heavier.

6061 Aluminum Alloy is 2.7g/cc while ebony ranges between 0.96g/cc and 1.12g/cc. For reference water is 1.0g/cc (grams per cubic centimeter).

By carbon fiber I assume you mean carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite which has a density around 1.6g/cc depending on how it was produced and what type of carbon fibers were used.
